So everybody bashed him for not getting cousins or trading for Butler. Slammed him for almost not getting Hayward. If he can turn that offseason into getting kyrie as well what a coupe it would be. Highly doubt the Cavs would do the deal with us same conference but he's got the picks to do it. It 4 would have to be in the deal I I assume to make Cleveland consider it. But could you keep Thomas and snag kyrie that would be amazing. Think about it you only have one year left at horford than it becomes s team option in year 4. Could have a loaded lineup.

No. Irving has a set list of teams he wants. The players dictate where they want to go these days. Also, Irving doesn't move the needle for us. It helps out a little in cap space but horford and Hayward came for IT

Does he have a chronic injury problem...like his knees or something?

There's less than zero chance Cleveland ships Irving to Boston.

The Celtics are not getting Irving. Period. I was hoping this would be a thread on a three way facilitator type deal, where the Cs end up with someone good in return for Crowders co tract.
Celtics fan for life.

The amount of chaos and discord it would bring to the team isn't worth the talent upgrade.

Yes, he has a set list, but he has no say in the matter. He doesn't have a NTC and is not a flight risk, because he's locked up for a few years. Honestly, he'll probably end up somewhere like Phoenix, and there's nothing he can do about that.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Maybe as a 3rd team, no way they ship Irving to Boston.

I was thinking the same thing. Without Kyrie the Cavs are a different team.

If the balls bounce right, this team is going to be in position to finally get a legitimate center next season.  Why would Ainge make this move, when it would cost the team that opportunity, since Cleveland would almost certainly be demanding both that Brooklyn pick and the Lakers pick?

We don't have to included the Nets and the Lakers/Kings pick. We just have to place an offer that they can look at.

The longer Kyrie stays in Cleveland, the tighter the tension gets. If it keeps going, eventually the Cavs would have to settle for what is the best they could get just to get him out of that locker room, as eventually he could be hated by his teammates, and vice versa. It would be a toxic environment for him and the other, and that is when Cleveland would just be willing to accept a deal, regardless if it's fair value or not. We just have to have an offer on the table if/when it happens.

If we are considering getting Kyrie, just field an offer that is decent enough that the Cavs would get some value, but not too rich that they'd get equal or more than Kyrie's worth. Nothing that involves the premium picks and Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. If the Cavs don't want it, no harm done. If they did, then we get Kyrie.
