Recently read online that Kendrick Perkins is working out hard for a comeback attempt. If we end up with a roster spot and he proves himself in Maine,  do we bring him home? We could trade Baynes and Crowder for another rotation players.

I voted yes. Nostalgic I guess.

I love Perk, but absolutely not. He is the opposite of everything Stevens looks for in a player. Far, far too limited to be on this roster, even if he was in his prime, which he is clearly not.

Maybe the Pelicans can pick him up to backup Anthony Davis now that Rondo is there.

Players like him would never go to Maine. If an NBA team doesn't pick them up, they will play overseas for real money.

Regardless, I'm not interested.

I was thinking the same thing.  But enforcer Perk should have a  job on a playoff team somewhere. I'd have him on my roster just for toughness- and interviews.

He was cooked as a player years ago.  I'd bring him back to hang out in boston but not for a roster spot.

I get loving a guy's character but my goodness, why on Earth is this even a question? Mickey would be more useful and that's even crazy talk for us to waste that spot (on purpose) another season on him! That spot should be used for a useful vet or to try and find a rookie who may turn out to be useful now and/or in the future.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Maybe now that Lacerte and company are gone we can play guys without watching their physical capacities.

That is what this thread means, I hope. BTW, no. Move on.

We already signed the shiny new Perk in Aron Baynes so I will have to go with 'no' on this one. Perk is like 6 years past being a decent rotation player at this point, but I appreciated all he gave for our organization.

Even if he were in his prime, he's really not an NBA player in the 2017 NBA.  His only strength was defending big post up centers.  Well, there really aren't any of those any more.  He could be the Okafor stopper, though!

This is what many over-the-hill players are doing these days, "attempting a comeback".  The money is just too good in today's NBA for even marginal players.  If there's even a chance to catch on somewhere, it beats selling insurance.

Didn't we hear about Baron Davis trying a comeback recently?

Why would we?

At this point Baynes is miles better.
