Players to Watch

Jayson Tatum - The Celtics first round pick, #3 overall, will continue to have the spotlight on him throughout his first Summer League. In Utah, Tatum averaged 18.7 points on 46.8% shooting along with 9.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.3 steals.  He starred once again against the Lakers with 27 points and 11 rebounds and against the Blazers with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
Demetrius Jackson -  After sitting out the final two games in Utah, Jackson was back on the court against the Lakers.  He finished with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  Most importantly,  the Celtics are 3-0 with Jackson and 0-2 without him.
Jaylen Brown - Jaylen was a man among boys in his first game against the Sixers with 29 points and 13 rebounds.  He has come down to earth somewhat since then, though but has still played well.  Against the Lakers he had 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.  Against the Blazers he had 13 points and 8 rebounds and the dunk of game.
Semi Ojeleye - Ojeleye was projected to be drafted in the 20's but slid to the Celtics at 37.  He struggled somewhat in Utah, but came on strong in his first game in Vegas with 19 points including 5-9 from beyond the arc with 3 rebounds.  He played well once again vs the Blazers with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Sixers Summer League Roster

Aaron Harrison
Charles Jackson
Furkan Korkmaz
Timothe Luwawu Cabarrot
Isaiah Miles

Possible Starting Lineup
Larry Drew III, Brandon Austin,   Furkan Korkmaz,  Alex Poythress,  Kaleb Tarczewski

Injuries
Markelle Fultz  (sprained ankle)  out
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (upper lip laceration)  out

Players to Watch

Furkan Korkmaz - Korkmaz was taken with the 26th pick in the 2016 draft and was stashed in Turkey last season.  He is now in Vegas trying to impress the Sixers brass for a spot on the team this season.  He finished against the Spurs with 12 points and 4 rebounds.
Isaiah Miles - Miles played last season in France and is hoping to make an impression on the Sixers or other NBA team in Summer League.  He has a contract to play in Turkey next season but has a clause that would allow him to opt out should he get a contract from a team in the NBA.  Miles averaged 14.0 points on 73.3 percent shooting in two Utah Summer League games.  Against the Spurs he had 10 points and 3 rebounds.
Aaron Harrison - Harrison went undrafted in 2015 and has played with the Hornets and several D-League teams since then.  He finished with 14 points and 3 rebounds against the Spurs.
Jonah Bolden - Bolden, an Australian, was taken with the 36th pick in this year's draft, one spot before the Celtics drafted Semi Ojeleye.  It will be interesting to watch the progress of these two players along with the progress of their teammates, Markelle Fultz and Jayson Tatum.  Bolden had a big game against the Celtics in Utah and finished with 7 points and 3 rebounds against the Spurs.

Game Notes
The Celtics got a win over the Sixers in their first game in Utah as Jayson Tatum hit the game winner in the final seconds.  The Sixers would love to win the rematch but will have to do it without their star, the number one pick in the draft, Markelle Fultz.  They will also be without their promising second year player Timothe Luwawu Cabarrot.

Abdel Nader, the Celtics promising pick from 2016 who was the D-League Rookie of the Year last season, missed Sunday's game against the Blazers and could be out again this game.  Ante Zizic has looked more comfortable with each game and could make a difference for the Celtics.

Also looking more and more comfortable is Jayson Tatum.  He has been the best player of the Summer League so far and is making Danny's choice of trading away the chance to draft Fultz.  We won't see another head to head matchup between the two but Jayson has another chance to show that he's the top Rookie in this class.

This is the final scheduled game for the Celtics in Vegas.  From this point, the teams will go into a playoff format leading to a Vegas Summer League champion at the end of the week.  On Wednesday, seeds 9-24 will play in 8 games and on Thursday, seeds 1-8 will play against the winners of Wednesday's games.

On Friday, losers from games on July 12th and July 13th will play and on Saturday, winners from games on July 14th will play.  On Sunday, winners from games on July 15th will play.  On Monday, winners from games on July 16 will play in the championship game.

Keys to the Game
Chemistry - Both of these teams have been together for long enough to begin building chemistry as a team.  Injuries have slowed the Sixers down some but they still have enough players who have played well together that the Celtics need to come in ready to play.
Defense -  Defense is always a key to winning, whether in Summer League, regular season or especially in the playoffs.  The Celtics need to play tough defense to give themselves a chance to win.
Point Guard Play -  The Celtics play much better with Jackson playing the point.  Hopefully he will play again in this game and give the offense a boost.
7-11 - The Celtics need their dynamic duo to play well.  Tatum has played very well in every game so far.  Brown started off strong and then has come down to earth a bit in the last two games he played in.  Hopefully he comes on strong again in this game.
Resting Players - Coaches in Summer League tend to rest players from time to time as they don't want to take a chance on an injury due to a fatigued player.  Key players resting may affect the play of either or both teams.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Love to see both Brown and Tatum have a good game together like the first matchup. Especially looking forward to Brown being more assertive in this game.
Let's Go Celtics!!
