They are easily, EASILY... the worst team in the West.

I think on paper those names sound good but no way is that a good starting lineup.

24. Enough for pick #2 with some lottery luck!  8)

West got stacked, Lopez is injury prone, and frankly their defense just flat out sucks.

But seriously, did you guys see Skip's tweet today? I know, I know, "why listen to that moron...", but seriously, it's FUNNY.

I’m not ruling out the Lakers for the 8-seed because of Lonzo Ball. The 3-pt shot will be a strength of his. More @Undisputed, now on FS1.

If the Lakers REALLY are aiming for an 8 seed, Lonzo and Ingram BETTER become all stars THIS season.

Then he says Miami will make the ECF over one of BOS/Washington. LOL.

Finishing with the 2nd worst record would be perfect.  Chances are slim (20%) for #1 and no chance to go below #5.

Finishing with 4th or 5th worst record gets pretty scary.  Decent chance they fall below #5.

Small window to maximize likelihood that the pick conveys in 2018.

Third might be ideal. Fourth worst isn't that bad.

So for those interested the chances of the pick landing 2-5 and conveying based upon the Lakers final record are as follows (according to tweet from Kevin O'Connor).

75% chance if Lakers have the worst record
80.1% if second worst
80.4% if third worst
70.9% if fourth worst
46.4% if fifth worst
15.2% if sixth worst

Just for the record, the pick has a chance to convert as long as it stays in the lottery, although ofc the % goes down rather sharply. The 14th worst team has .6% for the second pick and .7% for the third (1.3% in total).

Will be interesting to follow.  Hopefully Ingram doesn't take a leap of some kind.

Whatever number yields us a 2-5 pick is just fine.

I'll say 20.

I think Phoenix and Sacramento are down there with them, but the gap between those 3 teams and the likes of the Pelicans, Mavericks, or Timberwolves is huge. And I can see a reality where Booker and Chriss take steps forward, Josh Jackson contributes something right away, Bledsoe stays relatively healthy, and Phoenox wins 34 games.

Phoenix could be worse than them. Phoenix doesn't really have much at all.

The consensus is that the Lakers will be significantly better, as much as 10 more wins. I personally don't see how. I think they'll struggle to break 27-29 wins. Is Lopez that much better?

By next year I think there is a strong chance Booker is better than anyone the Laker's have. Bledsoe is better than anyone the Laker's have right now.

If they sign Rondo  and  Caldwell-Pope-  yikers they will play themselves  out of  the  2-5 slot!
Rondo alone can do that. Let's hope he goes to NY or elsewhere!

And they said "If Rondo played in the entire first round of that playoffs series, they would have beaten or swept the Celtics"

Rondo was inconsistent and didn't play that well but he didn't have career lows in everything or really anything.  He actually had a career high in 3pt shooting percentage (37.6).   The Bulls weren't a very good fit for Rondo with both Butler and Wade and limited shooting plus Hoiberg as coach.

I think Sac has made some decent moves since the Boogie trade.  I think they're a bit better than Phx or the Lakers.  If some of the youth pays off for Phx, they could leave the Lakers well behind.

he's been declining for years. No ones going to sign him or be impressed by that fluke 3pt %.  Everything else was low. He was even benched for months I think by chicago
