How many years would he have to sign for to create a scenario like Haywards where he can opt out when he is eligible for the 10 year vet max?
Ideally that would be my preference. Short term, big money, let him opt out when he is eligible for the next tier. This would help us focus on the short term IT, Al, GH years while eventually transitioning to the 7/11, Draft pick era, while providing further financial incentive for IT who could get another big deal at his 10 year mark.
