I would like to trade for Porizingis but if NYK says he is untouchable I'd rather get Hernangomez and a future pick from the Knicks instead.

For example:
Marcus Smart for Hernangomez plus right to pick swap with NYK 1st rounder in 2018.

This gives us yet another shot at a top pick in the BIGS loaded 2018 NBA draft.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
No where near enough for Zinger.
He's the closest thing in this league to Anthony Davis and could be better in 5 years time.

To get Zinger you'll need the NY GM to be suffering from brain damage and a godfather offer of something like Brown+Smart+Tatum+picks.
In other words, never happening.
Phil Jackson just pretended to put Zinger on the table to scare him into submission- and he got fired for it.
Zinger is basically untouchable at this point.

Ask yourself, would you trade Porzingis for Smart+ some picks which *might* be top 5 in the lottery?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

All you want for Smart is Porzingis? I'd at least ask for Curry or Westbrook! :o

For perspective, they've apparently proposed Smart for Willy Hernangomez (NYK).

For as good as our guards have been in Boston, they won't return much.

That would be fine but would they take Crowder instead?

Looks like NYK would need to add 2.6mil more in value to make it work with Smart, and Crowder's making ~ 2.2mil more than Smart.  NYK has liked Crowder, but unclear if that was Phil's hang-up or a shared sentiment in the FO.

Great idea.

We should also trade Jordan Mickey and some other picks for Lebron James. I think our team would be better if we did this.

Ironically, I would not trade Mickey/triboy, Stevens, and Ainge for LeBron.

Salary cap issues aside, I'd love to dream about this one, but that's an awfully steep price for the Knicks to pay, and this is coming from someone who loves Smart.

Can you imagine, though, three likely top-10 picks next year? Wow.

I think that NY will keep Zinger for another year after dumping Jackson. They should give him at least 2 to figure out if they can build around him. If at any point NY is not convinced he's the next great player, I'm sure they'll trade him. I'm guessing he's not going anywhere...

I think Crowder is the odd man out. He's attractive to other teams and has three forwards ahead of him long term. I think the Celtics will try to re-sign one of Smart and Bradley, though I'm not sure that will be possible after re-signing IT4.
