BOS trades: Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, Terry Rozier, whatever other filler is necessary clear cap space for Hayward
DEN trades: Gary Harris, Kenneth Faried
Why for Boston: We get a Bradley replacement who's 4 years younger, 85% as good, and under team control for longer. Swapping Bradley for Harris only weakens us very slightly in the present and puts us in a much better position to contend post-Warriors. We also swap Crowder, who just became expendable because of Hayward, for Faried who, despite his defensive limitations, is the monster rebounder we need and can play without the ball in his hands.
Why for Denver: They get a superior version of Harris who, along with Millsap, can help them take a big step forward in the West. They also swap Faried, who they've been trying to trade for years and is now really expendable because of Millsap, for Crowder, who fills the hole Gallinari left at SF and is locked up on one of the best contracts in the league. Rozier is an additional young rotation guard who could potentially complement Jamal Murray very well. The three guys they got, along with Millsap, allow Denver to surround Jokic and Murray, who are both big minuses on defense, with tenacious, versatile defenders that can cover up some of their weaknesses.
