Apparently, the Nuggets may be closing in on Millsap.

Minnesota and Phoenix are reportedly OUT of the running for Millsap now.

If we don't land Hayward, we may consider Millsap or Gallinari, but Millsap might be gone really soon unless Ainge shows interest...

Also, as teams took themselves out of the running, it's possible Millsap's contract value dipped a bit, meaning he may be signed at a contract less than the traditional max he was expected to get (still a lot, though).

Isn't everyone supposed to WAIT for Hayward?

Start calling.

Ingles going back to Utah doesn't help us at all.

Better start looking at "fallback options" a little more closely, Ainge.

Why not?  We got nothing better to do if Hayward doesn't come here.

I feel like Hayward takes the meeting tomorrow as a courtesy...but I really get the feeling it will come down to Miami and Utah. Boston is going to strike out with all of their main options and have to pull guy from Tier 3..which is not anyone of real value.

But at least today Zeller and Amir got let go.

"MASTER OF PANIC" describes you real well, along with a hint of pessimism

But yes, thank god we got rid of them!

Great veterans and were a decent part of the C's growth the past 2-3 years, but now time to move on and try and get more talent or better depth.

Brad Stevens met Gordon Hayward at the airport.

Did Spoelstra? I don't think so.  ;)

Not interested in Millsap at his advanced age.  Folks around here seem to think that adding Tatum, Zizic, Yabusele and Semi this summer would be a step backward...!  If Hayward goes wayward, then build incrementally by exercising and developing our prime draft picks.

Pulling from Tier 3 to appease chicken little fans is worse than doing nothing

Not only is Millsap old and garbage, but Atlanta already tried Millsap and horford. They accomplished nothing together except got destroyed and exposed in the playoffs every year.

Good luck explaining that to the Chicken Littles running around here.

Millsap is a 4 who can do everything. He's an excellent fit and fallback if Hayward isn't signed.
But Denver is going to push to get him signed ASAP.

One thing Ainge is poor at is TIMING. He gets beaten to the punch by other teams. He should be into Millsap now as a backup to Hayward. Sure, Millsap is 32, but he's in good shape, a real pro, and a 3 year deal would be fine. He works with Horford, and would be a nice mentor for Tatum and Brown.

I'd rather see Millsap than Gallinari, who is a walking wounded with bad knees, and can't play defense.
