it would have also been bradley

That's not in the reports.

A Bradley level contract would be needed to make the numbers work though.

That contract wouldn't have had to go to Indiana, though.

How so? In order for the Celtics to take in 18 million after signing Hayward, they would need to ship out about 14 million, right?

Yes, there can be up to a $5 million difference in incomes no versus outgoing salary.

We'd have to send out Bradley, most likely. There's no requirement that he be sent to Indy.

For instance, this basic trade structure works:

BOS trades: AB, Crowder, crappy 1sts
BOS receives: George, asset from Philly

PHI trades: asset
PHI receives: AB

IND trades: George
IND receives: Crowder, crappy 1sts

I'm fine with it. Thought it was unlikely we were going to get PG13. He's not going to the Lakers right now.

I agree with Roy though OKC package is better than the rumored Celtic offer. It's not great but it's better and I'm glad Danny didn't offer any picks of Brown/Tatum.

2 recent lottery picks with room to grow. Easy to see why that was more attractive. Sucks to be a Magic fan. What do they have in return for those guys? 1 late 1st??

Probably went down similar to this. This guy always hates on Ainge and it's too funny.

Thought I read somewhere that the three firsts for George offer was only at the deadline before the draft lottery and draft day and the playoffs where George may have been a big factor for Boston. Once we got the number one pick and news continued to get thicker that George was LA bound after next year, of course that offer was off the table.

But.....this also sounds like more Bulpett stuff that Ainge leaked to him to save face, like when Bulpett was the only source for 4 first rounders for Justice Winslow. Suddenly Bulpett is the only source for 3 first rounders for George includung 2017 Brooklyn pick,

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

When Ainge unloads two lottery picks plus other goodies for Anthony Davis a year from now, then will we stop making jokes about him hoarding assets?

I also saw this as a possible explanation:

"There was a belief by the Cavaliers that Indiana president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard, when it came down to pulling the trigger on a George deal, felt more comfortable shipping him to a Western Conference team rather than an East rival -- the Celtics and Cleveland both made countless inquiries -- eliminating a potential roadblock as the Pacers begin a rebuild."

Roy, you are a staple of CB and probably the most important poster here, but you are overreacting. 'Crowder and late firsts' (even though it is likely we offered more) is still better than freakin' Oladipo and Sabonis with no picks.

This is just proof that people are afraid to get ripped off by Ainge.

Why is Crowder + late firsts better than Oladipo and Sabonis? I'd take the latter all day.

It's certainly debatable.

I'd rather have Oladipo and Sabonis than Crowder and some picks in the 20s.

I'd put Tommy Points on the line that the LAC pick (lottery-protected) and the MEM pick (Top 8 protected) are going to be far better than a pick in the 20s. With talent consolidating in the West, both teams are trending down. The LAC pick could end of being a casualty of protections, but that MEM pick is going to be late lottery or late teens. That $20M of Oladipo's is no joke - especially for his production.

Why involve philly? I think Bradley is better than Oladipo.

I think Indy did the classic get him out of our conference move.

It's an example. In that offer, we'd be getting an extra asset from Philly, while giving Indy the "Crowder plus picks" deal that people are calling impossible.

This stuff always leaks after Ainge fails to make a trade to so I really don't know what to believe anymore.

If he really tried and Pritchard refused to trade to an Eastern team out of ill-placed spite, than so be it. I just hope he actually tried.

Danny loves his picks especially lottery picks...so he can get the #1 pick and trade it....for more picks
