Victor played for Indiana and should draw some fans.   We will all be grateful once PG runs for the Lakers that we did pull the trigger on this deal.

What trigger did we pull? I am confused.

Okay. Thanks.

BTW, I am HAPPY that Danny wasn't going to include Jaylen or Jayson and/or BKN pick in a trade for PG13. Indiana are FOOLS to do that trade without waiting to see if they could have gotten better offers from BOS or BOS/CLE. Oladipo? Really and that contract. They got fleeced. I can see that GM being fired soon. Plus they could have gotten Otto Porter in a sign/trade. Oladipo? Wow.

Another right decision by danny, you really got to respect his patience
I said multiple times we don't want a loser who will easily betray his team and didn't take responsible for what he did

Like Paul Pierce threatening to force his way out of town?

Or KG using his pending free agency to make it clear he wanted to be traded, and only to a contender?

What about Horford, who left his team without allowing them to get any compensation?

Losers. You can't win with guys like that.

If George was a one year rental then I'm glad we didn't give up the farm for him..I always said Indy wouldn't trade him to Cleveland or Boston
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I still can't believe Indiana made that deal. So bad.

Pacers fans must be livid.

Victor Oladipo is better than anyone they could have gotten in exchange for a potential one-year George rental. He did manage to average 16ppg on a team that had Russell Westbrook. Sabonis is a decent young prospect.

The Pacers did alright here.

Pacers did TERRIBLE. Oladipo at 4 yrs and 84 million???  They could have landed Love (much better than Oladipo) or Otto Porter (much better) or probably Crowder/Bradley and a NON BKN pick (better)

They got screwed.

OKC won the trade, near-term with George/Westbrook as a VERY GOOD tandem, and long-term when both bolt to LAL then OKC can truly start over without the Oladipo boat anchor.

Andy Miller, Garnett’s agent, told ESPN on Thursday that Garnett had no interest in playing for Boston. While Garnett does not have a no-trade clause in his contract, he has the right to opt out of his contract after the 2007-08 season, a weapon he could use to guide trade talks.

“The Boston trade isn’t happening,” Miller told ESPN. “If a trade were to happen, that’s not a destination that we’re interested in pursuing.”

I wonder why the Pacers wouldn't wait to see what happened with Hayward first?

Almost like a spite trade.

Why should they? To repeatedly get offered Crowder and a non-lottery pick?

This isn't like you.
It takes two to make a deal.
There was no deal with Boston unless it was way too much.
Good that it wasn't done.

Oladipo is trash @ 20 mil per over the next 4 years.

There's really no defense of that trade from an Indy standpoint.

I don't think the Lakers pick was way too much. George is an All-NBA talent. The odds that we draft a player with that pick who is even 90% of George are pretty slim. The odds of that pick even conveying next year aren't great, around 70% if the Lakers finish with the 4th worst record.

Would a Jae + LAL pick trade have killed our future? We could have spun off AB to another team to recoup an asset. There's a (minimal) risk that George leaves, but there's also a risk that our shiny top-5 pick turns into a 2019 Philly pick.

I don't understand the need to defend this trade for Indy.  It's a horrible deal.  With Oladipo's contract, you can actually argue that Indy would have been better just letting George walk for nothing.
