The best offensive player in the league without a doubt, when he is in the zone there is no player in the world who can defend him, best handles ever probably. he can play defense when he wants, Tyronn Lue is just an idiot who doesn't know how to use him at his best

Cavs wanted to trade him for Bledsoe and 4. pick and next year if LeBron leave Cavs, Irving is leaving too (Opt out)

Instead of giving IT max deal next year maybe Ainge and Brad will consider taking Irving? He would be great and can improve his all around game (defense at first) with Brad

I could have seen that as a first step towards getting a player like George.

This is so wrong in so many ways.

Why?

I think he meant when you called him the best offensive player...I think a lot of players in the league can be slapped with the label "best offensive player if he is in the zone, no players can stop him"

I mean just the finals alone, you can say LeBron/KD/Curry are those players as well.

And handles is always a hot debate, most people will always give that title to AI.

Why?

Irving is nowhere near the best offensive player in the NBA; he's not even the best offensive player on his own team. First of all, there is more to offense than one-on-one scoring, which Irving, despite being elite, isn't even close to the best at in the NBA. But beyond one-on-one scoring, what exactly is Kyrie good at on offense? He's a poor passer, rarely makes the right play, and is a major ball-stopper. Kyrie is an impressive tough-shot-maker, but he is guardable. He lacks the length and explosiveness to make him completely uncontainable, like Durant/LeBron types. The idea that he "can play defense when he wants" is laughable. He's legitimately one of the worst defensive players in the NBA. He lacks defensive fundamentals and effort, but cannot compensate with physical tools due to his t-rex arms and mediocre athleticism. He doesn't bring it defensively ever, not in the regular season, not in the Finals. However, I will not argue with the handles; they're up there all time. Ultimately, Kyrie is a really nice player, but the problem with him is that his tough shots, his highlights make him look so unstoppable that people egregiously overrate his overall game.

best offensive player in the league?

Hilarious.

Best ISO scorer in the league? Perhaps.

Among high-ish volume iso players in the Playoffs this year, Kyrie ranked behind DeRozan, Curry, LeBron, and Durant in PPP. Kyrie's really good at scoring, but he's really no better than he's generally perceived, decidedly below the elite of the elite.
