League source: Celtics waiting to hear back from Indy's Pritchard, but consider his current demand for George unrealistic. Source added that Pritchard's last demand was for next year's Nets and Lakers picks, plus starting player(s).

That asking price is absolutely absurd, and if Indy doesn't come down dramatically, George won't be a Celtic.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA PASS.

If another team wants to give something of that magnitude up for him, by all means they should go for it.

NO WAY AINGE DOES THAT.

I'm curious as to what the hell they are asking from other teams then??

So he can have the starting wings of the EC 1 seed and the LA pick as a compromise.  Done deal

This was pretty much known yesterday when somebody quoted Ainge as saying Indy was asking for a good chunk of the Celtics estate.  IMO, it's just a typical starting position for negotiation.  Indy actually has some leverage with other teams interested, but not a lot.

There's no way Pritchard gets anything near that for a possible rental. Hell, even if PG agreed to a 3 yr extension beforehand, he wouldn't get that much for him. This is definitely posturing.

That quote was from two weeks ago.

Uh, yeah, that's pretty unrealistic, and that's most likely posturing and the starting offer. That was pretty much the price at the deadline before all of this went down.

Outside of the Lakers, no team can even come close to the package of AB, Jae, and the LA pick, and even LA is not going to beat that offer without adding Ingram or Ball, which they seem certain to hold onto.

So, yeah, Danny certainly isn't budging on that, because there's no way that's realistic in any sense with the potential of him leaving. I would probably add one or both of the Memphis or LA picks for him, but certainly not the other Brooklyn pick, Tatum, or Brown. Those three are completely off the table.

Right, whatever.  The point is that this is not new news.

Whatev - let them trade George for Eric Bledsoe and two end of the 20s future firsts. No other team even has one pick the magnitude of the LAL/Sac pick. I would even venture to say that nobody even really has one as valuable as the Memphis pick. Indy would also be getting whatever pick we can get for Bradley from a 3rd team and perhaps either the Clips pick or our 1st next year.

Seriously, what contender in the George sweepstakes is going to beat:

Crowder
Mem 1st
Another 1st (from Bradley trade)
Bos '18 or Clips '19 pick

And that doesn't even include the LAL/Sac pick or another sweetener like Rozier. Also look what guys like Butler and Cousins went for with two years left on their contracts or what Chris Paul just went for. Indy may have a little more leverage than LAC, but not much with George wanting OUT.

It must be really annoying to be Ainge in these negotiations.

Its called a starting point...
No team could come near the Celtics assets so its Pritchards due diligence to ask a ridiculous price

If we are giving up the LAL/Sac pick, then I want to divert Bradley to a 3rd team and collect the future first from said team for ourselves. Crowder and the LAL/Sac pick is more than enough and much more than anybody else is willing to offer.

If that was Indy's request I hope that Danny just hung up the phone and didn't return the call.

At that point I'd just block their number.

Let's just hope that Indy doesn't get irrational and "punish" the Celtics with a bigger final ask, simply because the Cs have more assets to trade. I know that that idea doesn't make any sense from Indy's point of view, but these things can get out of hand. Ever watched somebody try to win an auction on eBay? This seems to be the reverse.
