Gordon Hayward Wrinkle???

So we all just saw what happened with Chris Paul who had a player option, opted into the last year to facilitate the trade to Houston.

1. Could this same strategy be used by Gordon Hayward?

2. Would Hayward be able to get the super max by doing so and making All NBA next year?

Would we be able to rid salary cap to be able to acquire a 2nd  max player (either outright sign Griffin) or trade for George?

We could offer Utah Jae Crowder, Tyler Zeller (opt in before 7/2). Utah gets a replacement for Hayward (something rather than nothing and losing Hayward to FA).
