Because of risk of him not signing. Apparently, Indiana unwilling to allow C's to negotiate? Guess they'd perfer Julius Randle...

Kinda knew this was coming... Ainge always gets us there... and then leaves the bedroom.

Call me crazy, I still give up Crowder, Bradley and LA pick for him and hope he resigns. Gotta start taking risks with these assets.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
All Is well. We have the Leverage not them. They need to put on some cologne.

Good.

Damaged goods with bad attitude to boot, buyer beware.

Top draft assets it says.   So no Nets or Laker/Kings pick.

Makes sense for a rental.

Just go after Hayward and Griffin and keep the picks.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

The thing is, Crowder would already be a nice asset. They could flip him and his cheapo contract to a team that wants to win now and needs wing depth and probably get a mid first rounder.

Bradley is nice but hard to re-sign. Still, you'd get him for a year at least, at cheap money.

The problem is the Celtics have amazing picks (BKN/LAL or SAC) or bad ones (BOS 18/All the heavily protected ones). They don't really have good/mid-level ones (say, 8-15 range).

I don't know what other teams are offering, but I would offer Crowder/Bradley/BOS18 and maybe a 2nd round pick or player (Nader?) if needs be. I mean, what is LAL offering? Randle? Crappy future picks as well? They can't even offer their 2018 pick because we own it. The earliest first round pick they could offer is 2020.

probably because we are uncertain if he will extend, if it's a one year rental it doesn't make sense, if he extends then it does

Tend to agree. The worst case scenario is that you unload that LA/SAC pick, George leaves after a year, and then Anthony Davis lands on the trading block.

Of course, trading for George with some understanding that he'll stay beyond one year is a different story.

You must be talking about yourself here, because that isn't an accurate description of Paul George.

What are "top draft assets" in this case? Is the Lakers pick one of them, or just the Nets pick and Tatum?  The tweet and article aren't clear on that.

I still think Indiana will wait until after free agency to make a deal.  Their best bet is waiting for us to really join the bidding for George to either get a better price from us or create a bidding war and get a better price elsewhere.  There's no immediate time limit approaching like there was at the trade deadline, so they can afford to take this slow.  They won't (well, shouldn't) make a lesser deal now if they think there's a real chance of a bidding war/better price in a week or so
I'm bitter.

Its got to be crowder, rozier 2018 celts, 2019 memphis or clippers 1st

No way Ainge givesup the 2018 lakers pick

Pacers wont get a better offer elsewhere...
