Woj says derrick rose was hoping to go to Minnesota to reunite with thibs but wolves went in a diff direction with Teague lol

I'm surprised the Wolves didn't make a run at Kyle Lowry. That seems like a better fit to me.
True

Wolves making run for Millsap too

https://twitter.com/FisolaNYDN/status/880996542328565760

I'm guessing it's a salary cap thing. Teague didn't get the max whereas a player like Lowry might command it. I think the Wolves would rather have Teague-Millsap than just Lowry. Man, imagine that lineup:

Teague-Butler-Wiggins-Millsap-KAT

The wolves are looking good! I'd root for them.

Teague is also two years younger than Lowry.

Unless they clear more space Millsap would have to take a discount to join Minnesota. They have about 15 million free now, according to ESPN.

I know everybody is excited about this team but I will hold my breath a little. Teague, Butler, Wiggins, are all not really great 3 pt. shooters. Butler will help their D a little, but he doesn't help Towns, Wiggins, or Teague become good defenders all of a sudden. I would have rather they find shooters and tough defenders to surround Towns with, but I understand those guys are hard to find.

Anyway, this is just a temporary move for these next two years. The key for the Wolves is still Towns' development. What the trade does is make the Wolves legitimate, after which it will be easier for them to attract stars in the future.

So Lowry and Millsap are next, right?  If they go to the West too, it's just 2 more reasons the C's will be in even better position in the East, at least.  Haven't heard much from Washington, Toronto, Atlanta, Cleveland...

Lowry and Porter both had meetings with their current teams of Toronto and Washington last night.  I'd expect the status quo there, mostly.  The Raptors are rumored to be looking into moving Valanciunas so they can keep Ibaka and move him to the 5.
Boy Valenciunas in Brad's system next to Horford would be real nice...

Valenciunas is an average and slow center. Believe me, Zizic is what we need most.

Hearing there's a chance a sign-and-trade could be a possibility with Amir Johnson.

I'm assuming for something non guaranteed to create some extra cap space?

Nene back to Houston for 4 years, $15 million.

Update.  Nene and Houston's deal has fallen apart.  He's someone I'd love for the room exception.

Most likely either cash or a somewhat protected second-rounder.  Figure out how much Houston has left in non-guaranteeds they can trade, multiply that by 50%, and that's your deal.  (At least that's my guess.)

Why wouldn't Houston just waive the non-guaranteed contracts and sign Johnson.  Is there a cap space trick involved?

Yes.  Houston is over the cap at this point.  Give the amount they're over the cap, they can take back 50% +100k of the salaries they send out.  (Twitter also thinks they have an $11 million trade exception, but I don't see how they got that unless I missed a trade yesterday or this morning.  They didn't have it Thursday.)
