One of the long term benefits to adding Hayward and George would be their influence on Brown and Tatum. Being able to practice against two all stars, while also easing their way into the NBA, will help with their future success. Their improvement will greatly impact the success of the second unit.

Guys... There's still not enough room under the cap for both of them... Just saying.

We don't need to have cap space for both. We can go over the cap to trade for George.

Last season Paul George wasn't a good teammate during press conferences. However, he has stuck up for Lance Stephenson. No easy task...

Which pursuant teams can acquire George? Wash and LA don't have enough to give. Houston, maybe? Cleveland could find a taker for Love which could yield tradable assets. Who can still make a play for PG aside from us?

Right, but then we have no ability to bring over our stashes, no ability to sign our second round picks and 8 players total on the roster.  That's assuming we wave Zeller and Mickey to clear enough cap space to sign Hayward to a max deal.  If we send Avery and Jae to Indiana in a George deal we'll be over the cap by a couple million without resigning him.

This imaginary scenario of signing Hayward and trading for George is as close to an impossibility as it gets.

The second round picks are figured into cap space already in the form of roster holds, so no issue there. Trading Rozier would allow us to keep Zizic and get close to max space. Trading Smart would allow us to keep rosier, Zizic, Yabuselle and sign Hayward. A trade of Bradley+Crowder+picks would leave us with

Thomas, Rozier, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, George, Horford, Zizic, Yabuselle, as well as any of the second round picks we wanted to bring allow and make us a prime candidate for vet ring chaser. This is very doable cap wise.

100% wrong

They CAN fit....the issue then becomes the back end of our roster becomes a bunch of 2nd round picks, MLEs and min salary vets.

Vet minimum contracts can be signed even over the cap. I am pretty sure the standard 2nd round contract is for a vet minimum amount. Also there is the room exception available. So Boston should have

IT/Jackson/Allen
Brown/Smart/Bird
Hayward/Tatum/Nader
George/Theis
Horford/Zizic

Allen and Bird would be using two way contracts with the G League.

And we still have the ability to add 4 vets with the vet min contract or room exception. Maybe Amir Johnson and Gerald Green stay on as a vet min players and Jerebko stays using the room exception.
