How quickly do things usually move when the free agency buzzer goes off at midnight? I ask this only because I'm going to be on a plane much of Saturday and stuck at a wedding most of Sunday, but I'll still need my news flow. I'm hoping that the venue has good WiFi, but it will also involve a lot of sneaking around, since my wife considers it rude for me to be checking my iPhone while one of her friends takes her wedding vows. Apparently, a laptop or iPad would also be considered inappropriate.

Thanks,
Mike

Glad you have your priorities are in the right order.  TP

Things can go fast or slowly (as you know). You are correct to be checking.

I expect Celts to sign Hayward at 12:01 am and trade for George at 12:02.

News will start rolling in on July 1st at 12:00. However, the stars typically take a bit longer, so you might not miss any Blake/Hayward/PG news.

Hard to predict, but certainly a day to look forward to. Just how important are these marriages?

Danny has the plane in Utah Friday night for a meeting at 12:00 AM.  He leaves with a signed contract in hand and a little while later, announces a PG13 deal with an extension.  Watch out Cavs!

Apparently important enough to my wife that I need to be there. Sigh...

I thought about asking the bride to change the date, but she's 7-8 months pregnant and wants to get it done.

There's no harm in asking that a little emergency room care wouldn't fix.

Pretty much has to be done within 48 hrs.  Not remembering exactly but I believe there is a decision to be made related to Zeller that needs to done by July 2.

Remember the story about the congregant that mentions to his clergy that services conflicts with the World Series.  The clergy mentions recording technology to which the congregant replies...

Next time my wife complains that I care too much about sports I'm going to show her this post.

I remember hearing that news leaking about 12 pm on Friday afternoon and gets confirmed (or made final) on Saturday.

Players can come to agreements with teams on July 1st, but can't officially sign contracts until a week afterwards I believe, so I don't expect a trade to happen until later

I've tried convincing my wife that her priorities aren't necessarily in order, and I have the scars to prove it.
