Earlier today, I was thinking to myself : "would Michael Porter Jr. go #1 in the 2017 NBA draft over Markelle Fultz?"  I ultimately decided that he probably would.  Obviously, he has yet to even play a college game and alot can change in 12 months but he seems like a great prospect based on the footage I've seen, and the scouting reports I've read by people I trust when it comes to evaluating prospects.

Next years draft is going to be just as strong in the top 5 but waaaaaaay worse from 6-60 according to most draft experts.

I figured that it would be interesting to rank the prospects in both classes if the classes were combined.  I know it is extremely early since the 2018 guys haven't even played a college game yet, but it will be interesting to revisit this topic 12 months from now to see how some 2018 prospects inevitably fall off.

Here is my top 10:

1. Michael Porter Jr
2. Markelle Fultz
3. Luka Doncic
4. Deandre Ayton
5. Lonzo Ball
6. Jayson Tatum
7. Josh Jackson
8. Mo Bamba
9. De'Aaron Fox
10. Dennis Smith Jr.

Feel free to add opinions on specific prospects and maybe name some sleeper prospects from either class.

I'm just starting to learn about the 2018 class so any info, videos, scouting reports, links, etc are also welcome.

And another sub-topic:  Ben Simmons or Michael Porter?

Discuss.

I would have to disagree with the notion that 1-5 next year is just as good as this year. From my fairly limited research, 1-2 seem tremendously strong, and there's a chance 1-3 will be tremendously strong. Of course, this could all change with a year of college ball under their belts. As for Simmons vs. Porter, I'd have Simmons behind Porter, Fultz, and Doncic.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

This isn't to say I don't think a particular player will be very good. I'm going off of which player I think is most likely to reach their potential or fix a major part of his game. For example, I think it is more likely that Tatum becomes atleast average defensively based on his frame, than it is Isaac develops into a great scorer in this league based on scoring.

I'm not even going to think about the draft until December. Thanks for the reminder.  :)

Because nobody rated him higher than Jackson prior to the draft right?  ::)
