Rofl at Mudiay, Chandler and Faried being the outgoing pieces on the table

That is not the deal.  Looks like Gary Harris is the centerpiece from a player standpoint.

LOL

I believe this is what they call a smokescreen, i.e. a message to Danny and/or Magic to up their offers for George.

It was already reported that Denver, along with several other teams, denied taking on Love in any three-way George trade prior to the draft.

I also don't see the sense in acquiring Faried. He'd essentially be Tristan Thompson 2.0 off the bench for them, because they're assuredly not going big with him at the 4 and George at the 2, which would be a really awkward, mismatched lineup.

So, yeah, not buying this deal as of now. They even sound like this was something discussed in the past not now, so I'm not going to worry about it.

Ainge better get off his assets and get George. The Cavs are pretty desperate to keep George away from the Celtics. That's what this is all about.

Hayward is not enough to beat the Cavs. George and Hayward are probably enough. Everybody knows that.

This deal doesn't make sense for any team other than Cleveland, as usual.

I doubt there is any truth to this one, unless some GM's really that inept.

Maybe Pacers will take back Tristan Thompson as well for throw-in Myles Turner to Cleveland?

Love is not good enough for Cleveland to get back what they need to compete
with the Warriors.
Also, Cleveland has to have people on the floor who can defend, even if they give up some offense.
Never seen such porous defense from a finals team.  Some of that is the Warriors greatness, but a large part is also Cleveland's poor individual defenders.

They have to trade Kyrie Irving.
So basic framework is Kyrie Irving for Paul George (only two years apart in age).
Next is to add value for Kevin Love.  So Love to Denver for Faried and Gary Harris. (Denver might say no...so that has to be figured out).

Indiana has to give up a first round pick to Cleveland (they are the desperate team and get back a younger star than George) and possible a second round pick to Denver to entice them to do the deal (or Indiana can add another player going to Denver....or maybe they'd love to get Love...who knows).

Cleveland wait for Rondo buyout and hires him.

Rondo
JR Smith, Gary Harris
Paul George
Lebron, Farled
Thompson

That team has a chance to both score and to defend many times better than current squad. It has Harris (good defender) to guard Stef and 3 guys who can take turns guarding Durant.

It would suck if Cleveland got George, but the bright side is if Denver gets Love, that is another team that can destroy the Lakers, they can be better than the Clippers and Grizzles in two years, and they also challenge the Pelicans for my dream Anthony Davis scenario.
The Wolves can now contend for the playoffs with Butler and if the Nuggets do this trade,  they are also contending for a spot. I have 11 teams contending for spots, with the Mavs in 12th because of Carisle. That leaves the Lakers, Suns, and Kings all being bottom feeders. Obviously a long ways away, but long term this may not be the worst trade for the Celtics.

Jokic / Love rebounding and outlet passes would be amazing.  They should coax Calvin Johnson out of retirement, he'd be a 20 ppg scorer

Which front court is worse defensively:
Love Jokic
Or
Randle Lopez

He didn't fire the GM. GM wanted to go to Orlando.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.

Cream of the crop right there. :)
I have to give the title to the Lakers. Jokić and Love combo would score at least 130 pts on 100 possessions and Lopez-Randle tandem is truly paired as we speak.

Exactly the issue with this trade. I understand Denver needing a star that would actually be willing to play for them, but this isn't a good defensive fit. Their offense would be amazing though. The other issue is your core players (Murray, Jokic, Harris) are all like 6-8 years younger than Love.

Their young players' peaks line up well with when Golden State should be slowing down, but Love probably won't be around then. The older he gets, the worse his defense will be.
