So according to our good friend, A. Sherrod, Griffin had toe surgery in May and as a result, may not be ready to play until late November or even early December.

That is certainly something to look at as we head into FA.

I'd still have Griffin as the PLAN B Free Agent behind Hayward though.

May to December for toe surgery? Really? If he had bypass surgery he could be back sooner...

Well, this is Sherrod, so it likely means Griffin is already back to 100%

Could he possibly come a little bit cheaper? Like 27-28M annually rather than an escalating max starting at $30.3M. Maybe this isn't likely, but it depends on how much Griffin is interested in the Cs. He would finally get his chance to compete for a championship. Heck, we were #1 and in the east without him (and Tatum) this past season.

Does that extra $2 million really make you feel comfortable that he'll be healthy? As injured as he's been through his 20s, are you able to rely on him for four years?  His last three playoff series have ended early, and he's missed at least four consecutive weeks in each of the last three seasons as well.  If this report is true, that will make four seasons in a row of missing extended time.  People criticize Doc for the Clippers shortcomings, but the single biggest reason that they've consistently had disappointing finishes has been Blake Griffin's glass cannon of a body.

Yep, that and the fact that DeAndre Jordan CAN NOT be part of a Big 3 if you want to chase a championship.
