Leon Powe
agreed, but with a 3 point shot and more intelligence.

i like this pick. he was projected in the first round (20s i believe) and he very athletic. so, i think he can become an effective rotation player.

the celtics now have 3 similar players for one position on the bench. yabusele, theis, and ojeleye. the summer league should be fun to watch.  ;D

Agreed

All jokes aside, watching some highlights of his my first thought was Yabusele.

Crowder is the obvious comp, although he's got a little more explosiveness and length than Jae.   If he comes close to Crowder he'll be a steal in the 2nd round.

Theis I see as very different from Crowder, Semi, and Yabusele as he's not nearly as powerful as those 3, but is longer and a better athlete.  Good to have versatility.  It's hard to see more than 2 of our 3 TE's making the roster.

Do you think he we'll make the roster?

3/4 Jae Crowder 1/4 Jaylen Brown. E.g. A slightly less strong and more athletic Jae.

I don't think he'll be less strong for very long. He's built like a truck.

These comps are out of control. Jae Crowder with worse defense and maybe better shooting is basically the best possible outcome for Ojeleye. He was bad on D in college and it's an 80% chance he's bad in the NBA too. His path to becoming a useful NBA player is:
-Great, not good, shooting for a PF
-Much-improved shot selection
-Not being the weak link on D at either SF or PF

If these things happen he'll be a useful bench guy for a contender, or a decent starter on a sub-contender. But you just can't project drastic improvement for a 22 year old the way you can with a 19 year old, and Ojeleye has a number of weaknesses that can preclude him from being an NBA rotation player.

Not bad... But like crowder ... Will need to guard sfs.
Reach is too short to guard pfs full time
I think he will be able to. He has a good motor
