Agents work on the behalf of their clients - but provide advice and council and should bear the brunt of any decision to pass on workouts or interviews or medical exams etc

What adults does this kid have around him?  How did they let him get away with that?

Mike

He didn't make the decision.
How do you know?

Common sense, plus his agent's history of being difficult.

Jackson indicated that he wish he'd worked out for the Celts in hindsight. I think he just got bad advice.

It doesn't matter if it was at the behest of the agent or not.  The agent is representing Josh Jackson, not the other way around.

Interesting note is Danny said last year Dunn also didnt want to go to the Celtics. It wasn't clear if he meant Dunn didnt want to workout or didn't prefer the team

You forget it is a kid completely out of his league. His agent a guy Jackson selected and obviously trusts insisted on not going to Boston. I'm not sure I'd put my feet down and accept the invitation.

Since he choose BJ as his agent it is his fault in a way but I wouldn't blame him so easily for not forcing his will

This may just be a matter of semantics, but I'd prefer that Ainge didn't even mention Jackson at this point unless to say that we had Tatum ahead of him - and everyone else - on our board. The way it's worded implies that Tatum may not have been at the top of our board.

I didn't see that at all - sounded like there could have been a chance Ainge would have been interested in Jackson if he had worked out.

^Danny Ainge said Celtics brass "tried not to overreact" to Josh Jackson canceling a recent workout after they had traveled cross-country to see him, but he acknowledged that he was "mad."

It's not about who decide or advice or act.
It's about when a franchise is flying across the country to see you, it's too late, you honor your engagement. You should have canceled before they fly.
Very bad for Jackson, another knucklehead.

I'm glad Ainge was mad. I guess Stevens was mad to, he's not the type of wasting time happily.

i got a perfect Jackson floor comparison:
2007
1rnd
14 pick
Al Thorton

but anyway, I wish all the best to the kid since I've really hoped for Tatum.
