Ainge tells media there are deals that he might like to do, but "I’m feeling great about where we are today, about our night tonight."

I really do hope we end up getting PG13.

A team of IT, Brown, George, Tatum, Horford, can be a match up nightmare. Plenty of players that can help switch, and make up for their size at their respective positions to help benefit the weakness in IT.

Unless we get Hayward that is... :)

Literally unguardable lineup. Of course, assuming we even get one of Hayward/George is a stretch.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Hmmm that would not be us, potential all stars? It's looking like maybe we don't have the best offer either way looks like he's good as gone

What team was going to give an All star or a potential All star for a year of George? (Besides the Suns)

just the rebounding problem, but yeah. Smart Zizic of the bench, plus a couple of seasoned vets, good team

How are we going to sign Hayward if we take on George Contract?  19M salary right now.   Also he stands to make a pretty penny if he does well in the NBA awards.

If George receives one of two nods as a third-team forward, he would become eligible to receive a more than $200 million extension from the Pacers this summer, about $75 million more than he could earn otherwise.

At this point I don't want George.  I'm happy with full on youth movement.  Butler is gone.  George probably leavin g for lakers and Cleveland is a mess.  We're prime to step in and be competitive in the east for year align with philly and maybe Orlando.  The west will be beating each other up while we're getting better.

What awards are you talking about? We already know he did NOT make any ALL NBA team. As far as how he could fit financially I would like to know also. As long as we don't give great assets like Jaylen or BKN pick I would probably be happy with a rental and hopes to re-sign.

That's a really stupid system in a league with a luxury tax. So the team gets punished for having a good player. The NBA has the worse "salary cap" situation in sports the league has so much work to do in this field.

Yep and only the Pacers can give him that even if he is traded because he is no longer eligible for the supermax.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Its not perfect, but the key is that only the current team can offer the supermax, which means if you draft an allnba player and they are up for free agency, you are guaranteed to be able to outbid other teams.

He's not eligible because he didn't make an All NBA team (neither did Hayward).

It's part of the reason he's publicly announced he wants to leave the Pacers. Only reason he would have stayed was for a huge contract.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

That's what Ainge and his staff are paid to do. If they want both George and Hayward, they will have to cut enough players to make it happen.

It really all depends on whether the final product is better than what you started out with. You have to make like Belichick and cut accordingly.
