I heard a rumor that the Knicks like Smart.

Do you think other GM's look at Smart with more value as we do or Ainge?

Would Brad be really angry if Marcus were to go ?

This is the very first time I've heard Smart's name pop up. I think he has minimal value. I think more GMs would rather have Rozier.

Yeh i dont imagine his value is that high unless it's a team that specifically needs what he brings and doesn't mind the tradeoffs.

I think some people like what you hope other players would do hustle and effort. But as a talent in the league you can get that from mid first round picks. Not Danny's fault he drafted him was probably the best pick at #6 at that time, was a bad draft.  :-\

I'd say Smart is worth a pick in the 10-15 range.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to get a first-rounder for him to be honest. Obviously he's much more valuable than that, but being in your RFA year absolutely kills your value. (c.f. Nerlens Noel.)

He has more value heading into the period where an extension can be negotiated than he does afterwards, when Noel was traded.  If the Celtics think they need to go a different direction than Smart (and I don't remotely think that is their opinion, but if they do), then it makes much more sense to trade him tonight or in July than it does in Feb, when Noel's value truly cratered.

Agree. He is a specialist with a shaky 3pt shot. Not much room on rosters for that (though Thibs would be prettty hard for him).

To me, he has a ton of value because my wife bought me his jersey for my birthday. So I definitely don't want him going anywhere.

I remember listening to  podcast from Nate Duncan and Danny Leroux who theorized he was worth a late firth or early second.

Yeah, I guess a jersey with the name "SMART" on the back will always be wearable.  8)

I sure as hell am glad Smart is on my team.  I don't give a rats ass what others think.  I watch every game and love him.
