i think what could have been the greatest draft night ever , taking Fultz goes down the drain ALL the way to the worser pile of turds ever.

Number of years with Ainge as GM? - 14
Number of years with fireworks during that stretch? - Decide for yourself, based upon your definition of "fireworks".

Then, do the math.  Fireworks is the decided exception to the rule, IMO.

It's pretty demoralizing. All of these All-Stars and even All-NBA caliber players available and we probably won't trade for a single one of them. I was hoping these BK picks combined with the fortune of getting IT4 and signing Horford wold vault us back into the mix quickly. Instead Ainge wants to build two timelines. I'm ready to get back to the ECF with a loaded team, if we can get two top flight stars this summer.... you do it. Ainge has made this too complicated.

Live in the present man, George to a 53 win team is a no brainer. Ditto for Butler. Griffin plus one of these two and we're title contenders.

and.............getting one or two of those guys is no guarantee we win a title either. he is trying to improve us now and still have a core for the future. going all in now is just plain stupid when you have two super teams to beat to do it. we are NOT mortgaging our future for a small window.

No trade is a guarantee we win the title.   Our big 3 want guaranteed to win,  we had to fight hard for that title.  Had to go through guys like Kobe, Dwight and Lebron  in their primes.

But with that team we have an incredibly good shot,  and I will have for years.

Would trading down be considered no fireworks?

Because I'm starting to relegate myself to the fact that could very well happen.

And that might not be a bad thing. ;)

Ok again: help me remember, why the hell did we trade the option for a potential superstar again?

Man, we've got the 3rd pick now and I can't get excited about it at all.

I would not be surprised to see Boston move down for more more protected picks and then them take another small guard.

Would be very disappointing to go from #1 to Dennis Smith and more protected picks. Would have to say that would not have been Danny's finest work

Nowadays, just seeing these rumors, sudden tweets, etc. are my "fireworks"

I could see us taking the pick and trading back for 7 w Minny and taking Dennis Smith.

Don't even think Smith is worth the 7th pick...and if Boston takes him as their lone pick tonight..I have no idea what Danny is doing.

Boston would prolly get a protected 2020 pick and the 16th pick in this draft. Sounds about right
