Don't see how tatum and Hayward impact each other.

You take Jackson you are getting another Brown minus shooting potential.
Sure but it should be noted that Jackson is a better ball handler, passer, and defender and comes with a much higher bball iq.

Also I honestly don't understand how Hayward effects the decision at all. Pick BPA.

Ball handling and shooting have been very poor in the works out that Jackson did do. You take Jackson it is for defense and hustle. Not offense. That to me is not worth the three pick

I think that jackson should be picked.  I also think that
Basketball wise he's a couple years ahead of Brown, but one day they'd be an awesome duo.

And I personally think Jackson could start for the Celtics
Almost right away.  He's going to be more impactful than Crowder
Within a few months.  Crowder can be traded.

Starters:
IT
Bradley
Jackson
Griffin
Horford

Or better:
IT
Hayward
Jackson
Porzingis (via Crowder and whatever else Danny gives)
Horford

In both cases Brown and Smart are key bench guys.

Edit: could ad porzingis to first group too rather than sign griffin...

No way is Jackson already better than Crowder lol.

Crowder is arguably a top 10 SF in the NBA. Jackson isn't even definitely the best SF in this draft. Crowder can actually shoot, is far stronger so can play a few minutes defending the 4, and he is a very strong wing defender.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

Jackson is not starting until he can make shots outside...esp at the 3

Josh Jackson is a 2-way player. Brings more defensively, but projects as a good offensive player for sure.

Where does this can't make shots narrative come from?  Check the stats and compare them to say, Tatum.

Here is a good article on his shooting issues:

Crowder is also not a point forward and cannot blow by someone for a dunk
And is not all over the court like Jackson.  Jackson passing and IQ
And defense allow him to start.  Notice all the offense around him
In those lineups?  I agree it might not be Celtics/Stevens way to
Start a rookie so soon.  But imo they easily can if they want to
And would profit sooner rather than later.

I don't believe any of this. Jackson is the better pick over Tatum for defense--he's quicker and more athletic. If they sign Hayward, Tatum is redundant. Jackson is the defensive complement.

Not wanting a workout is no reason to reject a kid if he's the better pick. That tells these agents they can pick their teams.

The Hayward signing is critical to the Jackson vs Tatum decision. Not workouts.

Excellent point. TP.  Jackson the much better fit with Hayward.  If we draft Tatum, would indicate lack of confidence in signing Hayward.

Tatum can play 4 for stretches though. He is literally the same size as Jackson and same wingspan.

IT/Brown/Hayward/Tatum/Horford works as a small ball lineup.

arguable top 10 SF?

Something that nobody brings up is the redundancy of Crowder on our roster if we take Tatum OR Jackson.  Crowder does have a great contract but with Brown/Hayward/Tatum or Jackson he has got to be the odd man out. I think the Celtics could package him and something else for a decent pick either this year or next.

Crowder/Bradley for Minnesotas pick?

Crowder + next years celtics pick for Morris and Pistons #12?

I definitely see something like that happening.

if you do a lot of mental gymnastics you can make the argument.

Make Gianni's Wiggins booker and butler Gaurds. Make KD a PF. Make Melo a PF.

If you hold all those positions he's top 10 and I think all of them but maybe KD are fair.

Lol you draft who you think is a better player, who cares about fit? Nobody is guaranteed to be on their current team now after a year, not even Lebron.

I am good with either Jackson or Tatum. Jackson's athletic ability is interesting. He would be a fan favorite with his motor.
