The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade center Dwight Howard to the Charlotte Bobcats, source tell ESPN's The Undefeated.

Atlanta's new GM had already said Millsap would have better offers out there in free agency, and seeing as that's only possible if Atlanta chooses to offer him less than possible, it was already a near-certainty he was gone.

How much does Charlotte have going to bigs next year? $50 million to Plumlee, Zeller, and Howard, unless one is going back to ATL?  That feels inefficient.

I think this is and more to come is teams looking at Golden State and Cleveland and feeling liberated, in a "we can't compete with those guys now, so why not?" sort of way.

Horford must feel really validated for leaving at this point. Not only did he advance farther than he has ever advanced before in the playoffs, now this Hawks team is being dismantled piece by piece.
