This is some pretty strange timing.

Lots of reports say Butler is likely as good as gone from Chicago and will go either Cleveland or Boston.

Can't fault Wade for turning down that money though.

Wade wouldn't sniff $25m on the market this offseason, kinda hard to walk away from that. I think he was always opting in.

He'll get his money this season then just go ring chase afterwards. Probably LA with LeBron.

How much you wanna bet Chi trades him to Cleveland if they can't send Butler out.

There is no way he can fit in cleveland after opting-in right?

Chicago would talk themselves into Tristan Thompson being the big of the future  ::)

Of course he opts-in. He would be an idiot not to. Is any team other than that contract going to pay D WADE $24 MILLION DOLLARS??? No way.

They can do the deal with Love again, they just wont be looking for a third team that has a stash of picks, they'll want to just cut bait and take some expirings and crappy picks. It's easier to do this deal and save face then to trade Butler for squat.

I don't think D Wade can get to Cleveland this year but he can certainly sign cheap next year with the Lakers along with LeBron & George.  After LA trade - next year they can have 64 million in cap space for 2 max players.

DWade opts-in, now Butler says he doesn't want to go to Cleveland and wants to stay...

Coincidence? I think not.

Let's see if Chicago offers him a buy out if they trade Butler

Is Rondo staying with the Bulls too? They are bringing back the whole band for another round?
