Ugh...just would rather have Tatum but feel like it is going to be Jackson. I think Danny feels Jackson is the best player in the draft and knew he would be there at three
yes
I like Tatum but what worries me about him is that
1. He moves like a center (modern day center)
2. Plays like a guard
does this remind you of anyone? ... tall dude, that needs a haircut...
Tatum ideal fit for the NBA is at the PF spot. But he is not a PF...lacks height or length or strength to play the position
Jackson has the size of a legit SF (not 6'5 Jae Crowder) , is explosive like a guard, thinks the game at a high level (like a pg)... top notch motor. Only thing is , he shoots like a nba center, especially on the FT line.
If you add everything up,....
You underate tatum's quickness. He's not Jaylen Brown but he is decently quick and would be at least as quick as most power forwards.
Second, the play like a guard think is kinda ridiculous. He played the 4 at Duke and his post up efficiency was in the 94th percentile. He needs to add some weight before he can really play the position full time but he is a 4 at the NBA level.
It doesn't matter much if his post up efficiency was in the 94th percentile...he didn't operate much from that area of the court
Also a little concern about his physicality near the basket... defensively he grabbed 10 plus rebounds on 3 occasions .... vs Jackson did it 14 times. They both avg around the same for the year...but seems like Jackson has that extra gear, when rebounds are needed
Jackson seems the better rebounder at the moment but Tatum is a bit longer and has the frame to bulk up a lot more plus he's a year younger, so I think tatum could be a better rebounder on the long run.
I just disagree with your assertion that he doesn't play like a big on offense. Hes obviously more of a perimeter oriented guy but that's not uncommon now. He's the ideal modern day 4. Most PFs won't be able to stay with him on the perimeter and if you do try to put someone small on him he's a sophisticated enough scorer that he can use his size to score via the post or some other means.
