Growing skepticism among some execs in contact w/New York that the Knicks are serious about a KP deal. Price described as extremely high.

I would make everyone and everything available but Thomas, Brown Horford and the 2018 Nets pick

I would give up #3, the lakers/kings pick, crowder and bradley or smart

KP is what the C's need. He is cheap. Young and has time left on his rookie deal. Push the assets in and lets go. Still have enough cash for Hayward, plus the young Euros coming over this year.

Try to get him without and 3 and the Lakers pick..  Lakers clippers Boston 18 crowder and rozier is just fine..  One good player a good role player and 3 firsts..  You cannot give up 3 lottery picks for porzingis

I think it's safe to conclude that Jackson doesn't own a mirror.

Don't want a Butler trade (That's who Brown's supposed to become)
Don't want a George trade (Too much flight risk)
Would be in with a Porzingis trade (Need a big)

I'm assuming you're thinking of this deal after trying it out in NBA 2K, with the trade override on right?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I have a question for everyone.

This deal could easily look like #1 + assets for Porzingis.

Is that a good deal for us?
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

What do you think?

Ultimately, I soured on trading the 1st for KP. But eventually after thinking hard about it, I would say KP would've ended up being a top 3 pick if he was in this year's draft, if not at least top 2.

Ainge pretty much said the top 8,  is pretty much a wash, (although didn't he echo similar sentiments about the draft, the year before, and the year before, and the year before...?") so I don't view it as that much of a difference maker in the long run.

A Porzingis trade would make a lot of sense for the Celtics. He is in a rookie deal and therefore he could easily became a C and still allow the team to pay a max-player, like Hayward. The team could look something like:

IT - Rozier
Bradley
Hayward - Brown
KP
Al - Zizic

That's a hell of a starting 5.

But what about Melo coming together? He would prevent the Cs from signing a FA max player, but he is still a very good player. But wouldn't IT better be traded if Melo comes along? IT could net us players for the trade, leaving our young players under contract here. NY would get pick #3 + other picks + good young players IT could be traded for for Melo + KP.

Smart -Rozier
Bradley - Brown
Melo - Crowder
KP
Al - Zizic

That's a team with way better offensive talent than this year's. But would it work?

No it is not, and that's why it won't be such a deal.  It could maybe (and I frankly doubt it) be #3 and a player.  It will not be #3, the Lakers pick, and a player.

I have to think Jackson is going to at least want a little more than just the #3, and Crowder..

Especially trading division rivals, and the Lakers/Knicks vs. Celtics rivarly still steaming within the 'Zen,' Master.

By the way, why is Jackson called the Zen Master... He's been anything but Zen, during his tenture at the Knicks helm.  :police: :police:

I would be okay with doing 1 of MEM/Clips pick, Crowder, and #3. If he wanted to add Melo, I would match salaries, and maybe add a second rounder just to sweeten the deal.
