Ainge had very real interest in Chriss last year -- after falling in love with Jaylen, he tried to get another lottery pick to land him afterwards.

This is one of the reasons I also believe Ainge has strong interest in Isaac. If he doesn't trade #3 for a vet, I suspect he'll push SAC to give him #5 + #10 for #3 (so they can take Fox in front of PHX).

If he can make that happen, I'd bet he takes Issac at #5.

Hear me out on this, it's a pretty whacky theory but it makes a tonne of sense if you are looking through the smokescreens.

I first heard this theory on the CLNS broadcast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS6TrRTpr8E

and the more I thought about it, it makes a ton of sense.

What is the one name we haven't heard associated with the Celtics? We've heard Tatum, Jackson.

Think about it, would Jackson or Tatum start next year?

Where is the Celtics biggest weakness: Rebounding and interior presence, and that's where Isaac excels.

We never heard Jaylen Brown's name associated with the Celtics once last year and sure enough, he was the pick.

What did Ainge and Brad say that Brown's key strength was: defensive versatility.

Who has the most defensive versatility in the draft, who can guard 1-5's who can also be on the floor when Brad wants to play 5 out and hit open 3's. Who can help fix the rebounding issues?

Who has a chance to start from day 1, especially with Olynk, Amir, and Zeller being free agents?

Who's advanced analytics, put him in the same category as Draymond.

Who would Ainge be sure to be there at 3? there is a conceivable world where the Lakers could take Tatum or Jackson.

We hear that Jackson is the most "Ainge player in the draft" actually it could be Isaac if you are talking about long competitors that are two-way players and can switch onto everyone whilst still having an outside shot.

Who fills the biggest need. It's Issac

Before you comment, view that tape

http://www.draftexpress.com/video/12796/ and imagine this guy starting from day 1 in the Amir Johnson slot and splitting 20 mins a night with Zizic

I should also say that, I think option A for Danny is trading 3 for a Butler type, however if he keeps the pick Isaac could well be the guy selected.

I agree with everything except Isaac starting.  Absent a trade or FA signing I see Zizic starting at the 5 and Horford at the 4.  But I see Issac getting a lot of minutes, probably 15-20 a game, because of less competition for his position and his ability to play good defense.

I really like Isaac and would love to keep him, but if it meant getting Porzingis, I'd trade the pick and hope we get two top 5 picks next year Michael Porter > Jonathan Isaac  ;)

There is a lot in play right now with this pick, but if we end up keeping it, I see Isaac as the guy.

Trade #3 + #37 for #5 + #10

Use #5 to draft Isaac.
Use #10 to draft Ntilikina.

Use the Nets 2018 - Lakers 2018 picks to draft Ayton - Bamba.

Possibly the tallest/longest lineup in NBA history :

PG : Ntilikina (height 6'5 - wingspan 7'1)
SG : Brown (height 6'7 - wingspan 6'11 ¾)
SF : Isaac (height 6'11 - wingspan 7'1)
PF : Bamba (height 7'0 - wingspan 7'9)
C : Ayton (height 7'0 - wingspan 7'5 ½)

Switch everything on D. Best defensive team in the league. 8)

That's what I thought Fultz would allow us to do.

Isaac seems to fit the teams playing style more than Tatum and Jackson but its a little of a reach. As others said it would be great to get him at 5. Say 3 and C's 2018 1st for 5 and 10.

76ers Fultz
Lakers Ball
Kings Jackson
Suns Tatum
C's Isaac

You young guys that love youth and measurables really make me laugh. You're truly comical.

Yeah, a bunch of long, tall, 19 and 20 year olds are going to be the best defensive team in the league! L M F A O. In 6-8 years maybe, after they suck for about 3-5 years while developing and then only if they actually develop into players. Yup we could be the best defensive team in the league.....in 2023-24.

Please, post more stuff like this. I need another good laugh.

5 and 10 for #3 aint happening. The Kings reportedly turned down 5 and 10 for #2
