Imagine an off season where Ainge trades for KP and signs Hayward? Talk about freaking upgrades hypothetically.
Then we could talk about giving GS some real competition.

Alright, this is getting very real:

Quote
Phil Jackson says the Knicks have gotten calls on Kristaps Porzingis. Says they are listening. Phil Jackson on Kristaps: "As much as we love this guy, we have to do what's best for the club."

https://twitter.com/ianbegley/status/877696381850312705

Reportedly Phil said the starting price is "two starters and a draft pick"

So, Crowder, Bradley, and a future 1st? It would solve our salary cap issues for a while, we likely have to move Bradley this year anyway.

I'd like to keep Bradley and see what things look like at the end of the year. Might as well keep as much talent as we can.

#3, Crowder, Rozier.

Mike

Nothing really. The DX guys just said 1 to 3 was a big downgrade and the same stuff about conparing/contrasting Jackson and Tatum.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Nothing earth shattering - they have the assets to make a deal - no kidding

If this goes through, I want to see everyone who was mad at the Philly trade admit they have to trust Ainge.

Danny's like "no, the 3rd pick is too valuable for Porzingis. Let me trade down."

Cue the report in 2 days that the deal would've been done, but C's wouldn't include [insert random role player that will never be as good as Porzingis currently is].
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

If Porzingis gets traded there is a near 0% chance it is to anywhere other than Boston!  Danny was after him way before the 2015 draft and I still believe that the C's had a deal in place to get him during the 2015 draft.  If Charlotte or Miami had taken the 4 picks for the 9th or 10th picks Porzingis would have been a Celtic.

There are tons of ways to help rid them of Melo also whatever it takes.  Get it done Danny!

I like Porzingis. I don't think he is overrated.  He is good and he has an edge.  Past that, it is hard to read what this all might mean with so many different stories out there.

I guess I believe the Knicks like Jackson.  That does not seem like a stretch and puts the Celtics in a great position.  So if the "pick and two young starters" rumor is real, it is going to be hard for the Celtics.  We only have 4 real starters and none of them are particularly young.  As compared to the Lakers or even Phoenix, we don't have young starters.

I am OK with giving up the #3 but no other of premium picks.  Rozier might be a starter on the Knicks and he is young so that is two pieces.  Hard to believe that would be enough.  Maybe add something like the Memphis pick?  I believe the narrative that Phil wants players so i am not sure who we add along with Rozier.

The Knicks' best bet is to go nuclear and dump their roster, get a top-3 pick this year and next, and gamble on big free agents coming to play in MSG.

Who says they can't sign LeBron, if they manage to clear most of their cap?
#3, #37, DJax, Bradley (expiring) for Lance Thomas (crappy deal), KP.
Send Melo to the Clips for a bag of balls.

De'Aaron Fox / Bradley/ Courtney Lee/ Hernangomez/ O'Quinn

That's a craptastic team which could pick top-3 next year and have money for two max guys.

If boston does pick at three...Take Jackson. Huge chip to hold onto and move if needed. Of not...Just keep him

If you want to land a young cost controlled talent like Porzingis, you can't be cheap in the offer. I wouldn't miss out on the deal just to evaluate Bradley longer. Ainge and Stevens know what Bradley is and is not by now.

No way. It makes too much sense to actually happen. Danny will NOT get him lol. He's going to trade down or draft Dennis Smith at #3. Idc what y'all say that is going to happen.
