It's funny how the draft next year or the year after is always so much stronger than this year's draft.

The draft next year is significantly inferior to the draft this year. I'll say that right now. The likely #1 pick (Luka Doncic) might be the best prospect out of the two drafts, but we've done absolutely nothing to increase our chances of getting him.
the point isn't its better, but weluxury the luxury to roll dice twice now on a draft that has better prospects that aren't pure guards (we have 6)

The guards on our roster are meaningless. Markelle Fultz was the leader of the next great Celtics team.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

If we end up with Doncic and Porter, that'd be pretty cool. The odds of that happening are well under 1%.
how are the odds of that happening under 1%? The nets were the worst team this year. Lakers 3rd worst team. The chances of getting 1 as of right now is significantly higher than 1%. Its higher than 25%
Well we don't get the LA pick if it's #1, so there's that. Plus Brooklyn and/or LA may improve, we never know.

What we do know is that after years of trying, the one time we get the #1 we throw it away.
the Lakers won't be worst team. Nets and suns were way worse
Pretty sure I read that they were the worst team in the NBA in games without Jrue Holiday.

That said, I agree. Don't see them finishing last.

We passed on the #1 overall pick. At this point, does it matter who we draft at #3?

We are obviously looking ahead for the 2018 draft.

Best part about this situation is that the Lakers will be sweating all season...... It won't matter if they have the 10th worst record.  Until lottery night...Celtics will have them by the ...

Isn't this in itself amazing  ;D

can you stop hanging out in the darkside

Lots of good things to like about the potential #3 picks.... they can all do a few things at an elite level

Considered blue chip prospects

why?   Worst case pick turns into the 2019 Kings pick.   Kings won't be good for a long time

Fine.

I want us to draft Dennis Smith, Jr.

If we're gambling, then might as well go full "I need tuition for college so I'm going to Vegas and use all the money I have left" gamble.

Two years is a long freaking time.

I know it's the Kings, but if they hit jackpots on #5 and #10, that 2019 pick could turn ugly for us.

you never know with Danny

He could trade the #3 for #5, #10 and a future Kings 1st

then pick Smith Jr. and Markkanen.

i don't think sac willl be good but I'm worried the pick trends closer to 10, which would be a bit of a bummer.

they traded Cousins last year...Gay is not coming back.    They are starting from scratch.  Infancy stage

Look at the 76ers and Wolves...how many years were they in the basement before they started to win a game or two

I'm confident its going to take a while

This is NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

The Kings just saw the Sixers take the #1 pick for the #3 and a protected Lakers pick. Why wouild they give up more value than the Sixers give the #1 overall for a much inferior asset?

They can be dumb, but they're not this dumb.
