The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade the first overall pick to the Philadelphia 76ers. The deal will be finalized on Monday.

Philadelphia is expected to select Markelle Fultz, who worked out for them on Saturday.

Boston is expected to receive the third overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft along with the Los Angeles Lakers' 2018 first round pick and a third future pick.

So much for not worrying, eh? I'm still saying a Butler/George trade is coming up next...

Fultz wouldn't have gone into workout with No. 3 without assurance trade was agreed upon. Sides have been locked into deal for 24 hours.

Unbelievable.

Surely there is still more to the trade and/or Danny has another trade lined up.

Not feeling so good about this right now.  Trading in the division and setting them up with not enough of a return.

Why now instead of draft night? What if the Lakers take Jackson?

Either Ainge wanted this done so that he can already move the assets coming in for another trade, or his guy is Tatum.

Trading the number one pick to get Josh Jackson and some protected future picks... Brilliant Danny.

Jackson is such a disappointment. Does nothing for this team.

Ainge's HOF legacy is on the line, as is the future of this franchise. Quite the gamble.

I hope the deal agreed upon relies on the contingent.

Otherwise, Danny is gambling on giving up the best prospect for this draft for...

1. a chance to be able to trade for Butler/George using what we got from the deals.

2. Lakers being bad, making the pick a top 5. So is Brooklyn.

3. Being able to land Hayward/Griffin.

This could easily be a master plan, or everything could astronomically blow in his face all at once and we get the shortest end of the stick.

But at face value, this is so disappointing. Why can't we just take Markelle Fultz and get it over it? Really...

Still thinking much of this is for a trade for a star. That's the only thing that really makes sense at this point. That or the rumored deal is actually better for us than being let on, such as including both the Lakers and Sacramento pick.
