33.6ppg 12rpg 10apg. These stats are legendary because he's the  first player to average a triple double in the NBA playoffs. MJ never did it.

Durant
35.2ppg  8.4 rpg  5.2 Apg

No. He played absolutely great, but in the game that prevented this series from being 2-2 going back to GS Durant hit a pull up 3 in his face and Lebron deferred to Kyrie for one posession and got blocked on another. Those plays alone were the difference in this series. In a series where two guys have similar numbers you absolutely always give it to the guy that won the series convincingly and the guy that came up big in the clutch. Not really debatable.

The argument could be made if:

1) No one else was close to his numbers
2) They lost a close series

As good as he was, Durant played at the same level, if not better, while also on a winning team in a lopsided series. Its a no brainer.

No. Durant was better, and his team won in 5.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

No- while Lebron's stats were better, people will remember KD's play more than Lebron's, as it had a larger impact on winning.

It's hard to parse through the difference between all-universe players.

In a vacuum, I'd pick Lebron first, then Durant, then Curry in a fantasy draft.

I wouldn't say robbed. The difference of winning gives KD the push is all. First year Warriors won that should have gone to LeBron imo.

LeBron was far and away the best player on the floor.

Durant just had more help. Less responsibility and more energy to do what he does best.

LeBron should have been MVP in my eyes.

Lebron was the best player. Durant was excellent and won 4-of-5, including hitting a game winner. He's a deserving, clear cut MVP.

Yes 3 finals ago when Iguodala won, but not this year. Durant was an easy choice this year.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

This is exactly what I was thinking. You could even make a case that Lebron deserved the Finals MVP the year the Heat lost to the Spurs and Kawhi won the award, just because of how lopsided the numbers were.

But not this year. Durant averaged more than 35 ppg on .556/.474/.927 shooting. Plus the rest of the numbers mentioned, plus the great defense. Durant won it.

Far and Away? Definitely No. Heck at times It seemed Durant was the best player in the league in this series.

Also your argument is weak, you could also say that because he had more responsibility that he posted better numbers.

Curry got robbed of that 2015 finals MVP too. Even more so then Lebron as he lost the series fairly easily and Curry was the best player on GSW team. 26 ppg, 6 apg, great efficiency. What went wrong?

What were Lebron's shooting percentages in the Finals?

Thanks,
