Nobody.

They will continue to absorb salary for draft assets or young players.

Why would they sign FAs when they can use cap space to absorb salary dumps in exchange for assets, picks or young players with upside?

JJ Redick just turned 33, and the Clippers are coming apart. He's going to take the money

I heard he lives in Brooklyn as well so that would be a pretty natural fit.  As he is a quality player, but won't move the win needle that much and would be a good role model for the young guys.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
They'll do 2 things:

1) take on salary for picks

2) Sign some guys to larger contracts that aren't enormous and hope they become good trade assets. (what they were hoping to do with Lin).
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

They could but they won't find a deal as good as the one they just got as they traded their best asset.  It might be more of second round picks they get now similar to deals the 76rs were doing.  Plus there aren't as many bad contracts now as there used to be.

They will play spoiler with restricted FAs.  My guess is porter noel KCP plumlee Kelly all on their radar.  If for nothing else to raise price on their current teams.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
They traded their best player for a young guy. If they Did get a major guy they still will be a top 5 worst team. There is nothing to worry about on our pick. KCP seems the most logical. Van Gundy may be ready to rebuild.

They should take on Noah's contract and get a good pick from the Knicks.

Top of the head:
Deng
Noah
Turner
Crabbe

Bet there are more, also teams that wan to get under the luxury tax like portland or milwaukee if they match snells new contract

They got lots of options, but hope they suck this year

Speaking of Milwaukee, with Monroe picking up his option, I could see him being moved to Brooklyn.  I don't think the Nets could get a pick or anything since Monroe is expiring, but he seems like the type of player and contract that would make sense for the Nets.  And I think he actually would play fairly well for the Nets in the interior/rebounder type role even with him not really fitting the pace and space style they played last year.  I could totally see him getting 15/10 on the Nets though as their starting center.

I think this year they score on an RFA. I am hopeful it is Porter.
