That skillset has really worked out for Elfrid Payton and Dennis Schroeder.

Fox is even more quicker/explosive

In the territory of RW, Wall, Kemba Walker

Because there is more space at the level... His game could rise

They like Fox more because they can't get Fultz. But would love for the Celtics to buy into the hype so they can get Fultz.

Besides the shooting, Fox has also got a slight build and weights less than IT.

Just what we need, a player that weighs even less than IT.

I like Fox's explosiveness.  After watching John Wall blow by our defenders I became a little more intrigued by Fox.  While I'm no scout I watched some videos on Fox and Fultz and neither one showed much in college on the defensive side, and I think Fultz is just better all around offensively.

Both have the tools to be special though.  I agree that LA taking Fox over Ball would be amazing.
Fox is an elite defender

Really?  The video I was watching (I think it was Bball breakdown) didn't paint his defense in the best of light.  His footwork would get him off guard and leave too much space, which would only get him in more trouble at the pro level.  He also has a small frame and will get backed down real easily at the NBA level.

I thought his D was a calling card, but after watching some videos he didn't look like an elite defender to me.

The Bball breakdown video starts discussing his D at the 6:54 mark.

Exactly.....or both.

Fox is Rondo to me and Fultz is a taller, longer Bradley Beal with a significantly better handle and chase down blocks and a better distributor.

Sounds like a helluva player to me. I'll take Fultz and not think twice.

Fultz' skills as well as his circumstances at Washington, mitigate my few concerns with him.

Honestly can't tell if this is sarcasm

I think he's serious. Dennis has been awesome and Payton has been good.

Neither guy really excites you for a top 5 pick in a loaded draft.

Plus Schroeder can shoot it a bit.

I could see Fox riding to 4 but no higher. Not a fit for Philly.

I've seen a lot of mocks with Philly taking monk at 3. That would be an interesting turn of events

Key word is "teams" and not "GMs."  It's probably Vivek and Dolan

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
We'll hear a lot of crap like this. Agents giving reporters crap like this all the way up until draft night.

Fultz is the guy, as Scalabrine has indicated way before we even had the #1 pick.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Yeah Fox is definitely overrated on the defensive end. I also hate the John Wall comparisons considering fox is around 20-25 lbs lighter than Wall coming out. Not sure he can finish consistently around the basket at the next level.

Dennis has been an average at best starting point guard.  Would you place him in the top 15 starting point guards in the league?  He has his games / moments, but has never been able to develop the consistency you want from your lead guard.

Payton has been bad.  Not actually good at defense as expected pre-draft and a detriment offensively due to his lack of shooting.

Would you be happy with either as a top 5 pick?

I certainly wouldn't.
