  • Everybody knows what's best for you
While you actually get a more valuable contract than Crowder's in doing this trade, it probably sends the wrong message to the rest of the team and potential free agents (Hayward) about the direction  our team is moving in.

Unless you want Danny to trade away all of our veterans/'stars', I don't think you can make a deal like this.

Seeing we lose Crowder but are signing Hayward sure it's a no brainer.

You can't keep everyone

Crowder, Brown, Hayward does not work.   Remember how upset Crowder was when crowd was chanting "Hayward"?

Rozier as well has to go, if you draft Fultz.

Getting a 10th pick in return is decent.  Markkanen would replace KO (cap space needed to sign IT4)

End of the day you can't keep everyone, there are so many mins to go around and have to manage the cap

Two thoughts-

Wouldn't New York give up #8 and O'Quinn for the same thing? Jackson has publicly stated he should have pursued Crowder.

Isn't Zach Collins a better player?

Knicks like Crowder but reading they want to draft a starting pg (Smith jr or Frank Ntilikina)

More likely they want to swap Melo for Crowder

I like Collins but Markkanen would be a seemless replacement for KO.  A stretch 4/5. One of the top 3 pt shooters of the draft

I saw both Collins and Markkanen play 3 times this year. Markkanen is tough to judge. He is a tremendous shooter. I have no doubt he can shoot over 40% from 3 in the NBA. He's also going to be a really big guy. But while he's in shape and plays with effort, he's pretty slow, and doesn't play big at all. I can see high motor NBA bigs eating him alive. I must say though, he shoots so well with range, he might end up being really good. He also may end up being no better than Meyers Leonard.

Collins isn't slow at all. He has quick feet, and a high basketball IQ. He also seems to be pretty skilled at everything. I'm more confident he'll be a productive all around player, but he doesn't have that one elite skill like Markkanen does with his shooting.

Markkanen would look sooo good on this Celtics team. He's an elite shooter, which we desperately need.

I like this idea although worried Rozier is going to turn out to be really good. Still, if we get Hayward and since we have first this year, losing Rozier is acceptable with us bringing back the tall one! Good idea. TP

And , for the hell of it, let Phil know he has one more chance at Crowder and melo wont get it done.

Solid trade idea assuming we get Hayward.  We're going to have a minutes dilemma if that happens so somebody will have to be dealt.  We are probably losing out in terms of overall value in this deal, but I haven't seen many better plausible options.
2020 CelticsStrong All-2000s Draft -- Utah Jazz

Finals Starters:  Jason Kidd - Reggie Miller - PJ Tucker - Al Horford - Shaq
Bench:  Rajon Rondo - Trae Young - Marcus Smart - Jaylen Brown -  Peja Stojakovic - Jamal Mashburn - Carlos Boozer - Tristan Thompson - Mehmet Okur

im not against Hayward or keeping Crowder

I just can not imagine them BOTH on the Celtics together ........we need to keep Jaylen over Crowder

If DA thinks he will land Hayward .....then he has to have a plan in place to trade Crowder to somebody .....Brown is the future , cheaper , and gonna be way better than Crowder .

adding Hayward has to mean subtracting Crowder .....especically if you add Fultz.

I like ideas to trade Jae ......the possibility is starting to become more real

Don't see Sacramento giving up the 10th pick for 2 bench players. Not exactly why the traded for that pick, I am sure.

I'd much prefer Collins. More versatile, athletic.
