I'd put the possibility at about the same as the possibility last summer that the C's would sign Al Horford or Kevin Durant.

Yes, I would say at least as real as the Horford situation. However until the moment Horford decided Celtics I never was sure he was picking up. I think it was a equal race between Atlanta, Washington and us.

Let's say for Hayward it's between Utah and Boston.

It's real, but the odds are much more in favor of him resigning with Utah.

I can see a ton of reasons for him to come to Boston, solid professional and basketball reasons.  The only reason I can see him staying in Utah is he just built a house.  What is swaying you so heavily in Utah's favor?  Just curious.

55% Chance He Stays With Utah

30% Chance He Goes To Boston

10% Chance He Goes Miami

5% Chance He Surprises The World And Goes Somewhere Else

My Prediction: Unfortunately, I think he stays put. But that won't stop me from hoping he comes to Boston and "intruding" the Hayward threads around here until he chooses officially  ;D

I mean, I didn't think Horford would come here especially after he beat our team in the playoffs, but he did...

I guess he can't join the Warriors, so that's a load off of my mind...

Have you seen his wife? I'm willing to bet she has some serious decision-making powers.  :)

Didn't Melo's wife make him choose NY over Chicago?

I really think Gordon is going to explore his options. C's have a shot. Dark horse is Lakers. If Lakers pull trigger for George they could recruit Hayward.

I think the dark horse is Miami actually.

I don't get where people are naming other teams outside of Utah and Boston. If he leaves, he's coming to Boston. We're clearly the best team with cap space of that size, and we have probably the brightest future in the NBA at this point. And all that is before even mentioning the Stevens connection, which is significant.

At this point, I'd say it's 50/50 that he leaves Utah for us. But I could see a strong, dominant performance by GS in the Finals push us in the lead.

All that is assuming that Hayward is our number one option this summer, which IL not convinced of with Griffin being a possibility, too.

I think he will be a Heater ...makes sense on so many levels .  Riley type player,  in a warm glitter city .  He does not seem the type to play in a small market ....CP3 has trained him well.

Maybe Griffin has a life changing attitude where winning means more than selling cars and insurance

I was under the impression that Hayward was very close to Brad Stevens so I think that moves the Celtics way above 50%.  I'm pretty sure I read somewhere Stevens was close to his whole family including his wife.  If ever a free agent lined up for us, it is Hayward this year.
