Jordan is a terrible free throw shooter and that gets exploited in the fourth. I'm not ok with him

Tristan Thompson is a terrible free throw shooter also......just sayin

Not lately.

I personally would love to have Jordan.

Doesn't matter. rebounding and rim protection , whether at an elite level or not, have NO VALUE to Stevens UNLESS he can both spread the floor AND defend the P&R. DJ "ONLY" checks 3 of 4 boxes and the most important to Stevens is spreading the floor. Too bad!

DeAndre will NEVER be a Celtic as long as Brad Stevens is the coach. Not his type of player.

You need to take into consideration what style of basketball your GM and Coach wish to play, and realize that
their trade and player acquisition decisions are based on that certain desired style.

DeAndre Jordan is a center that mostly camps under the basket, and won't work in the Celtic system.

We need to address scoring. I love defensive bigs, but we aren't playing games in the 75-80 point range any more. He would just be a lane clogger and diminish the effectiveness of IT without adding offense of his own. If he had a post game it might be different.

I do not know why you guys like to overpay for Celtics targets. Why would you trade the BKN 1 for Deandre? LOL. He does not move the needle.
Yeah this talk of moving the BKN '18 AND Crowder AND another player for a guy who would effectively help us become the Clippers of the East - admittedly with a better supporting cast, but still - is insane. I wouldn't mind a guy like DeAndre, but not for a cost like that.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

DeAndre Jordan doesn't fit today's game. He can't shoot and he can't guard multiple positions. He's a very traditional Ben Wallace-esque center, which made sense 14 years ago, not today. He could definitely help us win some games during the regular season, even in the playoffs. But you can't beat the good teams with a guy like that so ultimately it would be wasted money/space.

Not giving up the 18 Brooklyn pick for Deandre Jordan.

He has no individual offense and can't space the floor.  He's not a Brad Stevens type of player.

Would rather take Ayton or Bamba with that pick.

Ayton, bamba, and porter will be much more complete players than deandre "can't hit a free throw or do much more than dunk" jordan

but none of them are likely to be as good at anything as Jordan is at rebounding.

also none project to win DPOY awards.

To be honest Bamba and that 7'10" (I think) wingspan could develop into a DPOY candidate easily, assuming he follows the Rudy Gobert path. Just standing there with his freakishly long arms raised would stop most attackers.

Agree regarding rebounding, Jordan gobbles them up like not many others.

good point, hadnt really read the names, had just assumed that it was Doncic, Ayton and Porter being listed.

Bamba could certainly be a DPOY candidate
