"Lonzo Ball has unsurprisingly emerged as my #1. He is such an outlier of IQ and passing I find it overwhelmingly likely that he will be an NBA star.

Markelle Fultz is nevertheless a strong #1 pick if the Celtics choose him as expected. I expect him to become a star playing for Brad Stevens"

I have to say...I am kind of surprised at this.

You wouldn't be if you watched them play actual games and not just highlight videos.  Ball had a great year, and really drove his team's success.

Considering he lacks KEY skills that all star NBA point guards have, I don't see any reason why Ball would be #1

Foolish

Indeed. Has much better touch beyond the arc than Rubio though, which will probably lead to him to scoring quite a bit more. But his nonexistent mid-range game will hurt him majorly in the PnR - whereas Fultz is amazing in that area

Lonzo won't even work out with Boston so screw the ball family.

You'd think any player would be happy getting drafted to a playoff team but no.

It's all about him and that [dang] shoe

Let the lakers take him, Fultz will be here a long time and has just as much legit potential to be special

His dad is annoying... But take him out of the equation

Ball is quite a talent.  He makes everyone better on the court

Ball makes perfect sense for the Lakers, as that team lacks a leader. IT is our leader. We have one.

Does Fultz have the personae to become leader of our team down the road?  Doubtful. Could see Marcus and Jaylen eventually taking on that role.

Dean has Markannan going 4th, so that kills his credibility. Sounds like he's a Pac 12 guy.

I just don't see Ball as a top 10-15 player in the league.  I do see that potential in Fultz.  Fultz can carry a team in every aspect of the game.  He can score, defend, assist, steals, blocks and board for a guard.  I believe Ball will be extremely good and whoever gets him will have a great player on their hand but I fell more confident that Fultz will be the better player.  I know for a lot of people have worries about Ball and that funky shot.  His issue is if he can stay consistent over 80+ games per year.  A lot can go wrong in shooting mechanics

Outrageously good passing + BBIQ at 6'6 is a VERY strong combination of traits. Just because the biggest superstar PG's right now are score-first guys (Steph, Harden, Russ) doesn't mean the pass-first mold doesn't have just as much upside (see: Magic, Nash, Paul).

Demakis doesn't express a strong preference for Ball over Fultz but I think he's correct that these guys should be viewed as being in the same tier.

Defend what? There are plenty of examples of Fultz not defending.

Eh, people were saying the same thing about Brown last summer, though, and look how much more vocal he is now than he was at the beginning of the year.

Spending that much time around confident yappers like IT, Smart, and Jae will do that to ya lol
