Bottom line is that the last measurements made public on Fultz where last summers USA basketball. At that time he measured the following (in shoes)
6' 3 1/2" 185lbs with a 6' 9 3/4" wingspan
Looking at that photo and other images I would say its safe to assume he is now around 200lbs. In today's NBA he will have adequate size to defend most SGs.
Size Comps (pre draft measurements)
Smart
6' 3 1/4" 227lbs 6' 9 1/2" wingspan
Oladipo
6' 4 1/4" 213lbs 6' 9 1/4" wingspan
Beal
6' 4 3/4" 202lbs 6'8" wingspan
Wade
6' 4 3/4" 212 6'10 3/4" wingspan
Harden
6' 5 1/4" 222lbs 6' 10 3/4" wingspan
With next seasons roster and guard rotation in such limbo I think it is worth noting how adding size at PG could positively effect AB. For the sake of argument lets say IT is traded and the primary backcourt rotation next season features Fultz, AB and Smart with Rozier filing a similar role as this season.. For the first time in his career AB would be the smallest player in the primary guard rotation. While this seems minor it would alow AB to focus on guarding the opponents primary ball handler more often. With IT he is always bounced from SG to PG depending on the matchup. Without IT and with a bigger backcourt mate he would cause major issues for the non elite starting PGs in the league.
As much as I like IT and I hate this end of the season " are the Cs a better team without Thomas" hot take. I cant help but wonder if..
Fultz+AB+Smart+Hayward isn't a better group then IT+ Fultz+( AB or Smart)+ Hayward ?
Fultz's 8'6'' STANDING REACH separates himself and gives him the most length for any PG drafted in the NBA since 2000...besides Livingston.
1 huge problem he had in college was getting bumped off guys while defending them. Improved core strength will severely help his defense and the rest of his game. I saw a video of him doing some dynamic exercises with kettleballs to improve core strength.
Remember, he just finished growing and he just turned 19(he had almost an 8'' growth spurt from 5'8'') .......that picture looks awesome, but IMO it has great light and he's flexing as hard as he can. Remember some of the Sully pic's back in the day. Although, check the video of his shooting practice, the dude has a YUUUUGE back and defined bid time. He is stockier than I thought and should be a strong player....hopefully at the point.
Fultz needs to gain LEAN MUSCLE. He's already gained up to 200lbs, which you have to take his freakish length in to account.
It's important that he fights to play PG. He should not come on the team and train to be our SG. We need him lean and fast to defend other top PG's.
