This may be why Spurs consider moving LMA in part.

I think there is a lot to free agency that we can't even predict at this point, but we will be in a good position to potentially benefit if someone unexpected wants to play for us.  Who knows - maybe Durant wants to wear green after he gets his ring in June...?

Griffin moving rumors will spike based on this.

Would love for this to happen. Not only would it benefit us by making it very likely that Griffin leaves in free agency, but I would love to see Paul in San Antonio. I think that team could actually beat GS next year, especially since they'll most likely lose even more of their bench this offseason.

Durant isn't moving. But I'll be happy for CP3 if he ends up a Spur.

Would it be more likely Griffin moves or less likely? Maybe Griffin wants the reigns to the Clippers.

But you could be right. If CP3 leaves, I don't know what avenues the Clips have to replace him. With no pg at all, maybe Griffin doesn't want to bother.

The article states that Pau Gasol is apparently expected to opt in to his $16 mil salary for next season.  If he does, that will make signing Chris Paul very tricky.

If the Celtics strike out in free agency, would the Celtics be interested in acquiring Pau for the 1 year, $16 mil left on his deal?  Him and Al would be a very good offensive frontcourt.  We'd be slightly on the slow side on the perimeter, but would much improve our interior offense and rebounding.

Really doubt they'd move Parker in order to get Paul (which I read as being a potential move to free up some space), but would also love to see CP3 in a Spurs uniform. Not only would him and Kawhi be lethal, but they'd cause GSW some major headaches, if not beat them outright.

I agree.  First, it would be insanely surprising to see them move Parker for loyalty reasons.  Second, what team wants/needs to acquire a 35 year old Tony Parker at $15 mil per year who has been dealing with injuries every season lately?  SA would have send out assets with him if they are going to trade him.

TP. Exactly what I was getting at. At this stage in his career he's almost a fringe starter. Was barely outperforming Patty Mills towards the end of his season. Would be an insane move to a) pay a guy $15m to play back up PG, and b) trade a guy they've had for well over a decade.

Saw an article saying Spurs are also interested in Derrick Rose who apparently has said money isn't an issue as he just wants to win.

That'd be very cool. I wonder how well he'd mesh with Pop, as they can both be demanding, but I think they'd probably figure it out. I'd also love to see fully-formed Kawhi alongside another superstar.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Perhaps possible if he basically retires and SAS sends his contract to a team in the east willing to rent out cap space for a draft pick?

Rose changed his story big time if he really meant it.  He he talked about money as much as any player I remember.   Plus he seems like a bad fit for the Spurs.
