yesterday afternoon, I was stuck in traffic for a long time and ended up listening to some Felger and Maz basketball talk.
After a few of their usual stupid takes, they actual stumbled over something that I felt was pretty interesting.
Did the Celtics need to rule Isaiah out for the year? He had obviously played through this injury to some extent for the past month, specifically after reinjuring it in game 6 against Washington.
Now if Boston can pull game 5 out of their asses, which is not outside the realm of possibility as we have still yet to have a real hot shooting performance from Bradley, Crowder and Horford, we will head into game 6 down 3-2 with a chance to win a game and send it back to Boston for game 7.
Game 6 would be 8 days after game 2, meaning Isaiah would have had 8 days of rest. The Cavs would be hearing all the "3-1 lead" stuff and Boston would be playing with house money, and getting Isaiah back would just be a further boost. Would 8 days of rest still left Isaiah to injured to play??? or did the Celtics jump the gun in ruling the little guy out for the year?
