Didn't see this TNT segment last night, I usually watch the CSSNE post-game. If someone already posted this, apologies.

Huge props and respect to Sir Charles for the generous, kind words that he had for our Cs, especially him being such a long-time rival, who knew that he was a fan too? The guy speaks from the heart and knows what it is to be a professional athlete.

We all heard the snickers about the Celtics the last couple of days.........This game made me feel good about playing sports, Ernie........this is an amazing organization, the Celtics, Danny Ainge, Isaiah Thomas......a great player..........Tonight the Celtics made me proud to be an NBA player.....

Good Jerebko interview included too...really hope he stays with us next year.

Jonas getting the nod was nice.  Guy has been buried on the bench for no good reason (in my view) and he came out playing nasty.  That is Celtics basketball.

Say what you want about Charles, but he speaks his mind. No political BS from him, he says what he truly believes, even when he's wrong.

Yeah I like him but he said a lot yesterday as he always does including some less flatteringbstuff about the C's.

The thing that he said that I was also thinking is "this is why I love sports."

You never know how the mind and body are going to react to different competitive circumstances.

TP, Redz. So true.

And for a former star professional athlete to acknowledge that too, as well as to say that a specific team's performance (OUR Cs) made him proud to be a professional athlete in that sport is the highest of praise for me.

I felt the same way.  I still expect the C's to go out in 5 now that they woke up a sleeping giant, but I've never felt more proud of a team I expect to lose a series in 5.

And who knows, these guys might just prove me wrong and shock the world.

USA vs Russia Hockey '80
Pirates vs Yankees '60
'69 Cs vs Fakers
Pats vs Rams '02
NYG vs Pats (ouch, no perfect season too)
Buster vs Tyson
both Jets and Mets in '69 (plus Cs)
Miami vs Nebraska '84 Orange Bowl

Never say never.:)

a lot of credit to Coach Stevens as well.  It seems like he always has someone inserted late in the game that makes a critical play.  Like how Jaylen was in there for critical moments in the last series.
