A better fit short term, probably.

But long term in needing a star level players, no.

Add Hayward (and Fultz) and use that extra G/SF depth to trade for a better big man (or two)

i think this ^ is the safe plan ......but i like Porzings too.

Sure Millsap's a better fit. But he's pushing 32, and only played 69 games this year. He's got maybe 1 or 2 good years left before he declines. And he'll demand at least 4 years for close to $30M.

I'm not that crazy about Hayward, because he doesn't do a thing for their defensive/rebounding issues up front. I don't know what Ainge is going to do. Keep in mind Stevens is involved in personnel, too. That means rim protectors are verboten? We'll see. They're not going higher without an upgraded front line. I mean defensively.

I think all options are open right now. Fultz looks good to a lot of teams. I wonder what Ainge can get for that no.1 pick. And he still has plenty of options without giving up that pick.

We're not close to GS or Cle. No significant assets should be used for short term fixes.

Our biggest need is talent, not a specific position.

No. We don't want to be a worse version of the hawks team that never won anything

^^^ this...I really think this would be Hawks II. We already have Horford - Millsap, although a good player, would be a redux.

This is not true. Those Hawks had Teague, Bazemore and Korver to start with Millsap and Horford. We are a lot better.

That said, I wouldn't like to sign Millsap more than two years...if we can't land Hayward/Griffin and at 27 million per year, at most.
