Looks like two sweeps by double digit margins.

Best player for underdog in each conference go out with am injury early on.

What do you say, is this the worst ever? Or at least in the modern era?

No doubt. Absolutely horrible playoffs so far. Celtics vs Wizards the exception.

Hopefully the heavyweight matchup in the finals makes up for it.

30 teams is wayyy to many. Watered down garbage. Need to cut 8 teams, and the league would be much better.

The finals will be great, perhaps, but with two super teams perched on top of each conference, it really kills the preceding rounds.

My favorite part of all this is the hypocrisy by the league. Stern vetoed the cp3 to the Dwight/kobe Lakers for basketball reasons, but now its all allowed

I could honestly see d wade, rondo and Melo joining the cavs for the minimum or exceptions or something

Has nothing to do with number of teams.

The issue is free agency and max contracts. Get rid of max deals and Lebron's the top players would make like 60m. Teams would not be able to afford 3 of them.

It is ironic to hear Celtics fans complain about a lack of competitiveness despite the joke the league was when we won 10 championships in a row.

Just two years ago it wasn't much better.  Cleveland swept Atlanta and Golden State had a gentlemen's sweep of Gouatin (Houston won gane 4). The games were closer but neither series was ever really in doubt.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

The Spurs-Warriors would've been a great series if not for Zaza's dirty play. If I were a Spurs fan, I'd be p---ed to the point that I wish Curry or Durant would land on someone's foot.

NBA must do something about the super teams.
Just makes the league bad .

my ideas is every teams allowed to have so many players in a certain salary slot.
For example u can only give one player 25-30mill
Another player 20-25
And so on... more layers under lower slots.
One exception would be team draft picks .

Jalen Rose and Wilbon said it always been this way but I think they are way off base.  The Celts and Lakers dominated the 80s but they had competitive series to get to the finals.   Right, now it might as well be a two team league.  Our team is little more than a practice squad.

It will work itself out in a couple of years (after the 2019-20 season). GSW and CLE were able to build the core of their teams using the old salary cap with most of their max players making well under $20M/yr. The huge jump in salary was ridiculous; GS should never have been able to sign Durant and Cleveland's already huge tax bill (salary at $128.5M) should be astronomical. At least CLE was able to assemble their team without the help of the jump.

The salary should have increased in increments...but, hey, at least we all get to watch the same finals match-up for like 6-7 years in a row. Awesome!

Yeah, it was the stupid salary cap jump that enabled this.

I blame the embarrassment that is the East. OKC might have made the conference Finals in the East. Forget about Utah, Memphis or the Clippers.

Yes I have lost some interest in the league this year. Obviously the cap stuff was horrid for the league. They also need to address vet buyouts. The contending teams shouldn't be able to get starter level players going and signing on for cheap after they get paid by a bad team
