We lost by only 13 after trailing like 28 and playing horribly. Ill take it. A few of those 3s go in and this game is close

garbage time. dont let score fool u

lost the game again in the first quarter......they ran all over the Celtics .....we could not hit a shot ....and i did not see great Cav defense really l..just a bunch of streaky Celtic shooters and dog poo rebounding ......no enforcement in the paint on defense......awful,

Yeah, Celtics are getting easy cuts in the basket but somehow, they are settling for 3 pointers, smh. I expect a better game on the next one.

Starting lineup for friday should be Smart, Bradley, Jaylen, Crowder, Horford.

Yeah! We are not going to outplay them only with offense.

IT4 is going to have a hissy fit

as much as I like IT4....with him starting/being the main guy...Celts will never be able to beat GSW, Cavs or Spurs.... just too smart . Plus exploit size matchup all game long ...to win

Not dumb teams like Washington who will do it for a bit then forget about it

Maybe the solution to break this problem is draft Fultz and trade IT4 to the highest bidder.. Should be able to get a top 10 pick

Well if we do draft Fultz and he plays really well as a rookie, that has a chance of happening, a small chance.  There is no way to sugar coat it, IT gets exploited on D in the playoffs.  We don't have an answer for it, because there is no answer for it.

Anyone trashing IT on here should be ashamed after what he's been trough and the effort he's given. This team would not likely be in the playoffs if not for IT. IT is the MVP, without him the Celtics are a lottery team. Most players would've quit with a death in the family and having their front teeth knocked out and surgery and he never missed a game. IT is all heart and Celtics wouldn't be here without him!

But are we happy to be here or do we want to win a championship in the future?

Lebron is the best player in the league. Kyrie might have the best handle in the game (top 3), Love is getting back to his old self in Minny with 32 and 12 tonight, and Thompson is a valuable junk yard dog for the Cavs. It seems like the Celtics are swimming in shark infested waters right now.

Tonight's loss doesn't take any luster off the amazing Monday and Tuesday we just had. The Celtics are overmatched. It will take extraordinary effort to beat the Cavs.

We went into a wall last night, when LeBron is getting so many easy layups and hitting his jumper he is basically unguardable and it opens up their whole offense.

With that said, we definitely did miss a ton of good shots. What's most concerning to me is that IT seems to be mentally disturbed by the Cavs, like he overthinks too much (and it happened from the start). Off nights can happen but I just hope he can get over this hurdle (like Horford seemed to in the 2nd half) and play loosely like Jaylen did.

Green ought to play more in the next game, he was good.

IT has often struggled against the Cavs because they throw bigger guys at him and body him up and get real physical.   They literally bully him.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pgl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=game&year_min=2014&year_max=2017&is_playoffs=Y&age_min=0&age_max=99&opp_id=CLE&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_gf=Y&pos_is_f=Y&pos_is_fg=Y&pos_is_fc=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_cf=Y&order_by=pts&player_id=thomais02

If other people do not step up it makes it that much harder for him.

I think we are all glad Ainge stood pat now.   However, there is a glaring talent disparity between us and the Cavs which CBS had nothing to do with.   Ainge is playing the long game, and in the end I think we will be better for it.

Time for a no layup rule perhaps?

I agree.  I am just hoping we do not get swept.   We have the number 1 pick and made to the ECF with the NBA equivalent of the Army of Misfit toys from Rudolph.

Lebron  brought his 270 pd bully ball game and as usual Celtics have no BIG BIG s ....that can smack him down in the paint .  His 45 pound muscle advantage he used to the max.  And nobody boxed out Love at all that I saw.  Compoundd by the refs decided t let Lebron run over players like a football fullback .

Refs need to decide if the game is football or basketball.   Yet we aren't allowed to guard or touch Lebron in a ruff manor while he runs over players like duck pins

other words if he can play bully offense we should be allowed to smack him down in th painted area .

He is taking full advantage of his NBA status as THE MONEY COw

If we add Fultz and one of: Hayward, Griffin, George or even Carmelo we have a much better shot at this.

You are trying to outscore the cavs then... Wont work

Especially if the game is tighht and Lebron plays iso ball

Hayward cant do this to lebron nor durant likes of the world

Maybe fultz will be able to on Irving... But not in year 1 or 2
