Hope tonight's win convinced big-named free agents to take a deeper look at Boston this summer as a culture of winning and playing with heart.

Unlike cities where hypes and divas exists.

Once Durant made his intentions known, what the team has done is probably as good as it gets for this season. Probably could read definitely. The difficult thing will be to measure next season (unless the team do the seemingly impossible and get to the finals by beating the Cavs) as the next step is the finals and/or a championship.

Even with the number 1 pick and what the team has achieved (in the weaker East conference), all the assets and potential, it is still difficult to see how you beat the Cavs and GSW.

That said, the team should be celebrated, whatever happens for the rest of this series, for doing so well this season.

Point of order! The Eastern Conference is not weaker, The Western Conference is top heavy.

A win againt Cavs in ECF ......Heaven

is icing on the cake

Nobody else beat Lebron in the playoffs , much less at home ...... :D
Yeah, there has been a lot of talk this season about the Eastern Conference power structure which consists of the Cavs, then everybody else.  Late in the season, that next tier was considered to be Toronto, Boston, Washington (then following that Indiana, Miami, Charlotte).  This win (a ROAD win in the playoffs) separates Boston from the pack.  This team has a knack for beating ELITE teams on the road, going back to last season.

With the win last night, the Celtics have now won the most games in the regular in post-season combined since the 2009-2010 team.

Completely SUCCESSFUL season.

Now next season's parameters:

Draft Fultz.
Sign a max free agent.
Trade for big man help if the max free agent isn't a PF.
Develop Brown, Smart, Rozier, Fultz and Zizic by finding them all some rotational minutes.
Win 55+ games
Make ECF again.
Get a top 4 pick guaranteed again with the Brooklyn pick(somebody please start the 2017-18 Brooklyn Nets Pick Watch thread, please).

Do all that and next season is another resounding success.

Also, the Celtics are 3 wins away from the NBA Finals. It doesn't matter how you look at it, and hopefully we get 1 or 2 wins closer. IF you said that statement August of '16 I think everyone would be extremely thrilled. Then throw in the #1 overall pick and everything gets even better. Anyone looking at this season as anything other than a success is truly delusional

Successful understates it a bit. Historic.

Haven't heard a lot of comments about Brad's playoff record recently, either.

Well, I'd like us to at least not act as if we've never won a game in the ECF before.

Being competitive in every game should be an expectation, not an achievement.

Yep, already a successful season for me, even if we lose the next two.

But if we push CLE to 6 games this series.. oh man...  ;D 8)
