I selected satisfied with top 4 pick because:

1) Markelle Fultz is the best prospect but at the position we least need help.
2) Don't want Ball, but someone will take him before 4.
3) I figure Josh Jackson fits this team best from an on-court personality basis.  Tough defender, great effort, position flexibility. But, can he shoot.
4) Jayson Tatum might have the most upside to be a go-to scorer other than Fultz.

In general, I believe there will be more "luck" involved after the draft in terms of who pans out, than the actual lotto itself.  Not nearly as stressed as I was last year, where I considered it a two player draft.  But, I think I was wrong.  I'm not sure I'd trade Jaylen for Ingram now, would you?

You highlighted some very important points.  This is pretty much the way I feel about this draft except for the Markelle Fultz point.

I think he is the best guard prospect since Kyrie Irving and I think he is going to be great however, anybody in the top 4 has a chance to be the best player from this draft.  I guess we will have to wait and see.

And I would much rather have Jaylen Brown.  I may be a little biased though

1 or 2.

I do not want to settle for Josh Jackson or the guards from UK.

I like Fultz and Tatum the most. Josh Jackson is thin, a poor shooter and just another role player.

several factors will leave me satisfied.
1. We get #1 pick
2. A team with decent odds gets the #1 pick (Suns, Philly. ect.) but we end up 2nd or 3rd.
3. Lakers land at #4 and loose their pick
4. Lakers land at #1 and draft Lonzo Ball.

I will be disappointed if:
1. A team with like .5% chance to win gets the first pick
2. We draft Lonzo Ball.

Satisfied only with the #1 pick.
Interested to see who we would take second.

I'll be satisfied with a top 3 pick. I think there's a dropoff after Fultz-Jackson-Ball, not too impressed by Tatum.

But will the Nets be as bad? I can see the knicks tanking.

I say top 3 is fine, since I would be happy with either Fultz or Jackson, and feel Jackson will be available at 3.  I worry about Ball, and Tatum seems like a good fit for us, but worry that he has limited upside due to his limited athleticism and BB IQ.  Jackson's BB IQ is off the charts good. He is one of the most efficient college freshmen I have ever seen play.  That is not a comment on his stats; I realize he is a poor foul shooter, e.g. I'm saying as someone who has watched him play about a dozen games, where all I do is watch what he does, with or without the ball, he shows great BB IQ, constantly moving, very team oriented. Stevens probably is drooling to get this guy.

Fultz clearly is the one guy who has potential to be  a superstar scorer. Since that is the hardest thing to get, I understand why all the fuss. But I would be absolutely satisfied with Jackson were we not to get the first pick.

Depends on who gets the top two picks, but I could be okay with as low as third.  The Lakers picking Ball at #1 is not unreasonable.  Meanwhile, Ryan McD needs the Suns to get better quickly next year, or else he's out of a job.  With almost a third of their payroll already dedicated to Bledsoe and Knight, and Devin Booker deservedly entrenched at the 2-guard, Josh Jackson could make a more instant impact for that team, and potentially save McD's job.

In such a universe, Fultz could fall to 3, so the Celtics still win.  I don't think there are a lot of lottery outcomes that would allow for this, but certainly Fultz could be #2 -- right now it seems a lot of teams are split between those two at the top.

I just want Fultz, and don't care where we pick as long has he's there for our turn.  And I will keep telling myself that tomorrow at 7.

Admittedly I'm not that well versed in college basketball, but I think the players you'd get 2-4 are flawed for varying reasons. Ball: his dad, the "big baller" brand and the distractions involved. Jackson: the off-court incidents at Kansas. Tatum: mediocre athleticism for the next level.

I will not be surprised if Ainge trades back in the lottery if he can't get Fultz. but what do I know?

Whatever we get.   I think it unwise to base one's happiness on factors you can't control.

Anything but #1 is gonna be a bit of a dissapointment. 4 would be demoralizing untill the reality set in that we were still guaranteed a great prospect.
